Same-game parlays let you place accas at your favorite sportsbooks without researching multiple games. Make an acca containing results from the same game, including result, corners, and attempts on goal. In our guide, we’ll show you the best sports betting sites for SGP wager options.

What is a Same-Game Parlay?

What is an SGP in betting? The abbreviation stands for Same-Game Parlay. It’s an accumulator bet – usually used in football – formed of multiple events from the same match. Each “leg” of the parlay must win for the entire bet to win.

The beauty of an SGP wager is that you don’t have to bet on multiple games, as with traditional parlays. Plus, you can back prop events that oftentimes are unrelated to the final score.

Example: Queens Park v Falkirk (Soccer)

For example, an online bookmaker publishes odds for this SGP:

•    Queens Park to Win
•    Queens Park to Win 1st Half
•    Over 10.5 Corners

Total Odds: 21/2

Bookmakers usually group 3-leg SGPs. However, you can also make 2 picks in an SGP for a smaller price but a better chance of winning.

Of course, you can also form your own SGP betting markets. Open the SGP or Bet Builder tab at your favorite sportsbook to find odds on the FT/HT result, total goals, or total corners markets.

We may end up with a same-game parlay looking like this. Note that none of the individual parlay legs relates to the score or match winner:

•    Total Goals Over 2.5 @ 7/10
•    Total Corners Over 7.5 @ 1/1
•    Both Teams to Score (YES) @ 13/20

Total Odds: 46/10

Total Stake: $10

Total Return: $56.10

SGP Bet Tips

What does SGP mean in betting? It means making the right decisions, grabbing value where you can, and doing research. Here are a few takeaway tips for budding same-game parlay gamblers.

#1 – Research the Market & Sport Before You Bet

Most same-game parlays include prop bets such as total corners or total chances on target. It’s important, therefore, to do the proper research before you start betting.

Start by deciding on 2–3 different teams or leagues where you are particularly comfortable. Never get sucked in by a random football match from the Chinese lower leagues, just because it’s available to bet on.

For example, your research may point towards high corners in Real Madrid games. You can easily include Over 5.5 corners as one of your SGP legs.

#2 – Bet on ‘Shots on Target’

Similarly, opt for ‘Shots on Target/Chances Created’ markets instead of Goals Scored. Bookmakers can be lenient when deciding what is and isn’t a shot on target. Plus, a star striker will create many more shots than they do goals.

#3 – Use Free Bets & Cash Out

Top sports betting sites offer free bets that you can use on same-game parlays of your choice. Now you know the SGP betting meaning, you can use free bet tokens to take a shot at a Bet Builder or same-game parlay yourself.

In addition, many sportsbooks allow you to Cash Out your SGP early. You can track how well your parlay is doing in real time through your account page.

With two out of three legs cleared, the bookmaker may let you settle the bet there and then without seeing out the rest of the wager.
