How many times have CSK won the IPL

Chennai Super Kings have won a total of five IPL titles. They've also made a record 10 appearances in the finals and secured playoff berths in 12 out of the 14 seasons they've participated in, surpassing all other teams. Ruturaj Gaikwad now leads the team as captain, succeeding MS Dhoni who stepped down from the role ahead of IPL 2024.

IPL 2010

Chennai Super Kings clinched their maiden IPL title in 2010 under the leadership of MS Dhoni, who would go on to lead the Indian Cricket Team to an ODI World Cup title the very next year. Players like Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, and Doug Bollinger played pivotal roles with their outstanding performances, contributing to the team's success.

CSK finished the group stage with seven wins and as many losses, securing the third position. Their journey to the final began with a semi-final clash against the Deccan Chargers. In a tightly contested match, CSK's victory was propelled by the exceptional performance of Australian pacer Doug Bollinger, who claimed four crucial wickets for a mere 13 runs, leading CSK to a 38-run win and securing their spot in the final.

The final showdown saw CSK facing off against the Mumbai Indians. Suresh Raina smashed a blistering 57 off just 35 balls, steering CSK to a total of 168/5, which they successfully defended. CSK emerged victorious by 22 runs, clinching their maiden IPL title.

CSK met RCB once again in the final, winning comfortably. Murali Vijay's knock of 95 runs off just 52 balls took CSK to a formidable total of 205/5, in reply to which RCB managed only 147 - 8.
