Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni’s name in the list of any record related to wicket-keeping won’t be a surprise because he arguably is the best keeper that game has ever seen.  While his prowess at the international stage speaks for itself, he has had a massive impact on the IPL. Dhoni has the most number of stumpings in IPL history with 42 dismissals under his belt. His lightning-fast hands behind the stumps set him apart from others and made him the legend of the game. Overall, he has 185 dismissals in the league, out of which 143 are catches as well. He is also the keeper-batter with most dismissals in the IPL.

2. Dinesh Karthik’s (32 stumpings in IPL) 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Dinesh Karthik has the second-most number of stumpings in IPL history. The veteran batter has dismissed 36 batters through stumping in his IPL career. The India batter has a unique record of playing in all the seasons of the IPL and he is one of the finest keepers to have played in the league. Karthik also has the second most dismissals in the IPL with 170 wickets under his belt, out of which 134 are catches.

3. Robin Uthappa’s (32 stumpings in IPL)

Rohin Uthappa no doubt has been one of the most underrated players in the Indian Premier League. The keeper-batter added great value to the teams that he played for both with the bat as well as gloves. He is third on the list of the most number of stumpings in IPL history as he stumped out batters 32 times in his career. He also took 58 catches and has a total of 90 dismissals to his name as a wicketkeeper.

4. Wriddhiman Saha’s (26 stumpings in IPL)

If there’s anyone who has given competition to MS Dhoni in terms of keeping skills in India, it’s Wriddhiman Saha. The keeper-batter is right up there when it comes to the best keepers in the world. He has made a decent impact in the IPL as well behind the stumps. In the league, the Gujarat Titans keeper has effected 26 stumpings, which is the fourth most by any keeper in the tournament. Overall, Saha has been part of 112 dismissals in the league and has taken 86 catches as well in the league.

5. Rishabh Pant’s (21 stumpings in IPL)

Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant has been one of the most exciting players to have played in the IPL. Considered as the successor of MS Dhoni, the youngster has been nothing short of exceptional behind the stumps. In the Indian Premier League, he has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of wicketkeeping. Pant has 21 stumpings to his name in the league and is already above greats in Quinton de Kock, Adam Gilchrist and others. Overall he has been part of 90 dismissals and has taken 69 catches as well.
