Out of the 239 matches they have played, CSK has won 138, lost 98, with two matches ending in no result. They are tied with the Mumbai Indians as the most successful IPL franchise, each having secured five titles. All five of CSK's titles were won under the leadership of MS Dhoni, who handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad before the 2024 season.
