Players with Most Ducks in Pakistan Super League (2016-2023)
Know who has the most ducks in PSL history and the top ten batters to feature in this table of unwanted records. Interestingly, Babar Azam features here.
Former Peshawar Zalmi star Wahab Riaz holds the record for scoring the most ducks in PSL history, with the bowler tallying as many as 10 dismissals in the Pakistan Super League.
Getting out on a duck is quite frequent in T20 games, given the essence of time and the number of balls that a team get to either post a total or chase a target. Hence, it isn’t surprising to see big names like Kamran Akmal, Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan on this list.

Wahab Riaz - 10 ducks in PSL
Unlike the Indian Premier League, where most big names have changed franchises multiple times, Pakistan Super League teams tend to stick to their marquee players or veterans. Wahab Riaz is one such name. Drafted into the PSL 2016 season, the second edition, as a Platinum category, he was picked by Peshawar Zalmi for $140,000. The move was a success as Riaz became the first player in PSL to get to 100 wickets on February 18, 2022. However, Riaz isn’t among the tailenders who can wield his willow with moderate dexterity and his record of 10 ducks is a testament to it.
Imad Wasim - 10 ducks in PSL
A handy left-handed all-rounder, Imad Wasim is known for his unusual bowling action that churns out wickets in the powerplay overs. The Glamorgan-born lad is also an effective batsman with a penchant for big hits coming down the order. Signed by the Karachi Kings in 2022, Wasim has been a mainstay for the side since. He has taken 41 wickets on 61 matches and 897 runs in the same number of games, although he sits joint at the top alongside Riaz in scoring the most ducks in PSL.
Kamran Akmal - 8 ducks in PSL
One of the most popular players in the Pakistan national team, Kamran Akmal was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the 2016 season and it started in a mediocre manner. However, the veteran wicket-keeper made amends for the same with a tremendous 2017 season where he won the Hanif Mohammad Award for scoring the most runs (353 runs) and the Imtiaz Ahmed Award for effecting 12 dismissals from behind the stumps. However, Akmal’s proclivity to get going from the first ball hasn’t always been ideal and his eight ducks are evident.
Babar Azam - 7 ducks in PSL
Inarguably the best batsman to come out of Pakistan in the last two decades, Babar Azam has been the biggest star in the PSL off late. While the former Pakistan didn’t have a good run in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, he still holds great numbers in the Pakistan Super League where Azam has tallied 2935 runs in 79 matches.
Starting his PSL campaign in Islamabad United in the inaugural 2016 season, Azam moved to Karachi Kings the very next year. Azam achieved unmatched success with the Karachi franchise, leading to the title in 2020 as well before a dry run of form saw him being traded to Peshawar Zalmi in 2023. Interestingly, PSL’s highest run-scorer, Azam also has the fourth-highest number of ducks in the league.
Haris Rauf - 6 ducks in PSL
Pakistan’s breakout bowler from the tape ball tournaments, it was Lahore Qalandars who had picked Haris Rauf after impressive references from Shoaib Akhtar and Aquib Javed. Extending Pakistan’s lineage of producing fast bowlers from Rawalpindi, Rauf’s impressive display in PSL saw him replace South Africa’s Dale Steyn for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Having played just 53 matches from 2019 to 2023, Rauf is already PSL’s seventh-highest wicket-taker of all time with 64 scalps to his name. He is ahead of the likes of Imran Tahir, Sohail Tanvir, Rashid Khan and many more.
The likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, South Africa’s Cameron Delport and Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan also sit fifth with Rauf in the number of ducks list. Veterans Shahid Afridi and Sharjeel Khan sit behind them with five ducks to their names in the Pakistan Super League history.
