PDC World Darts Championship 2025: Day Four Results, Kist Hits Nine Dart Magic
Day four of the 2025 World Darts Championship lit up as Christian Kist delivered a stunning nine-dart leg, though it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure victory. Meanwhile, Premier League star Nathan Aspinall also took to the stage.
Day four of the PDC World Darts Championship began just after 7 PM, delivering another thrilling evening of action.
The session featured three first-round matches, headlined by fan favourite and former World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall.
Jim Williams vs. Paolo Nebrida
In the first of four matches, Paolo Nebrida, the second Filipino to grace the stage at this year’s tournament, faced off against Jim Williams. The Welshman, who made his World Cup of Darts debut earlier this year representing Wales in Gerwyn Price’s absence, looked strong throughout.
Williams consistently outscored Nebrida, racking up six 180s to the Filipino's single maximum. However, Nebrida refused to back down, chasing Williams down at every turn.
The drama peaked when Williams missed five match darts, allowing Nebrida to force a deciding leg after taking the second set to two legs apiece.
In the final leg, it was Nebrida who held his nerve, securing his first-ever victory on the Ally Pally stage. He now progresses to face former European Champion Ross Smith in the next round.
Madars Razma vs. Christian Kist
Latvian darts star Madars Razma faced Christian Kist in the second match of the evening. Kist, remembered for his first-round loss to teenage sensation Luke Littler at last year’s World Championship—a defeat that sparked Littler's remarkable run to the final—looked to make amends this time around.
The match got off to an explosive start. In the fifth leg of the opening set, Kist brought the London crowd to its feet with a magical nine-darter: 180, 180, 141.
This incredible feat not only thrilled fans but also triggered Paddy Power’s ‘Bigger 180’ initiative. Kist earned a £60,000 bonus for his perfect leg, while an additional £60,000 was donated to Prostate Cancer UK, and a lucky fan in attendance walked away with £60,000 as well.
Despite this sensational moment, Kist couldn’t maintain his momentum and eventually fell to Razma, losing 3-2 in sets.
While the £60,000 windfall doesn’t count toward his ranking points, it’s worth more than a quarterfinal finish in prize money—marking the second-biggest payday of his career after his Lakeside World Championship triumph.
Ricky Evans vs. Gordon Mathers
Kettering native and close friend of world snooker champion Kyren Wilson, ‘Rapid’ Ricky Evans, was up next, taking on Australia’s Gordon Mathers.
Known for delivering some of his best performances on the Ally Pally stage, Evans had won his first-round match five years in a row. However, this year’s outing was far from convincing.
Despite struggling at times—his average dipping below 80 during portions of the match—Evans managed to grind out a hard-fought victory, edging past Mathers with a 3-2 win.
He now advances to face Dave Chisnall in the next round.
Nathan Aspinall vs. Leonard Gates
Premier League star Nathan Aspinall headlined the night, facing off against American sensation Leonard Gates.
Aspinall recently opened up in Sky Sports’ documentary Game of Throws, revealing that he had been battling dartitis in recent years, which contributed to his dip in form. Returning to the oche for the first time since sharing this challenge, Aspinall was eager for a much-needed win to lift his confidence.
Though he secured the victory, it wasn’t the world-class performance he had hoped for. Aspinall defeated Gates 3-1 in sets, but his three-dart average fell below 90.
Fortunately for him, the Christmas break now offers a chance to rest, recover, and sharpen his game before facing either Andrew Gilding or the winner of Martin Lukeman vs. Nitin Kumar in the next round.
