Two-time PDC world champion Gary Anderson didn't hold back after his first-round win against Michael Smith at the 2024 World Grand Prix.

Anderson Calls Out Media Bias

In a passionate outburst, Anderson called out the media for failing to give current world champion Luke Humphries the recognition he deserves.

The rant followed comparisons between Humphries and World Snooker Champion Kyren Wilson, who recently blasted organisers for not giving him the respect befitting a world champion.

Anderson believes Humphries is suffering the same fate in darts, with teenage sensation Luke Littler stealing the spotlight since his rise in the sport.

Humphries’ Continuously Overlooked

"It's not just being world champion. What has Luke [Humphries] won in the last two years? This is the thing. He has won just about everything. He's not just world champion. He's there for a reason. World champion was added onto his CV,” Anderson fired.

Anderson even placed Humphries above his snooker counterpart, pointing out the numerous ranking titles Humphries has racked up, alongside his world title and world number one status.

"He's won so much more, and the boy gets looked over every time, which I think is a load of b****cks to be honest," Anderson told SportsBoom.com

Passionate Defence of the World Number One

"He's deserved everything that he's worked for, everything that he's got. And just to talk about other players, rubbish, absolute rubbish. Just give him a bit of respect. He's never ever mentioned, it’s always other people."

Anderson also praised Humphries for his humility, commending the way he’s handled the lack of attention. However, he hinted that deep down, it must be frustrating.

"Luke [Humphries] just goes along with it. As long as they’re talking about other people, he just carries on what he does. He’s handled it well. But deep down, he must be a bit cheesed off it."

"No, he just does what he does. He plays darts, runs, and that's it."

Humphries, a dominant force in darts, may be flying under the radar for now, but Anderson is making sure people take notice.
