The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) forward signed for the record Premier League champions at the start of this season and has already scored two goals against Mathare United and Posta Rangers.

He seems to be enjoying every moment at K’Ogalo.

Bendeka Happy to Settle Fast at Gor Mahia

The Congolese striker, formerly of Entecelles in Rwanda, seeks a new challenge and believes that Gor Mahia is the right place for him to explore and realize his full potential.

He told SportsBoom.com, “As a player, I am happy about the positive start and scoring two goals. I came to Gor Mahia to get playing time and improve on what I believe is already a very strong foundation.”

Playing for a big club like Gor Mahia means that you are among the best, and I hope that my performances will help me earn a call-up to the national team (DRC) ahead of Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament next year

Bendeka Wants to be the League’s Top Scorer

A headed goal against Mathare United and a replica against Posta Rangers have been crucial for Bendeka, who now says he has settled well in Kenya.

“Last season, I was second in the goal scorers' chart in Rwanda with 13 goals, and now I have two in two matches. It gives me hope that I can improve on that,” he added.

Gor Mahia, who have won the local league title 21 times, are yet to concede this season in the league, despite being knocked out of the CAF Champions League on a 6-0 aggregate score by Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The departure of lead striker Benson Omalla to Lebanon opened the door for Bendeka to join the Green Army, and so far, he has pleased both fans and his coach Leonardo Martins Neiva.

A scrappy yet effective performance against Posta Rangers was all that was needed on Matchday 2. The Brazilian coach, who trusted Bendeka to lead his attack, told SportsBoom that his plan worked well that day.

Neiva said, “We are very happy. The most important thing for us today was to win because it was not a beautiful game from both sides, but we are very satisfied with the outcome, especially scoring seven goals in two games.

Tough Fixtures Lined Up for Gor Mahia

K’Ogalo faces tough fixtures ahead as they aim to retain the league title. Coach Neiva believes that he has enough resources, including Bendeka, to get the job done.

“We are facing KCB next at Dandora Stadium. They have had a very good start to the campaign, and we hope to use this opportunity to announce to the rest of the country that we are ready to challenge for the title,” the Brazilian said.
