Mamelodi Sundowns defender Terrence Mashego is well-known for his precision and speed on the football field, but now he’s aiming for a fresh goal off the pitch – skincare.

As he launches his new skincare line, Euni Beauty, Mashego opens up in an exclusive interview with SportsBoom.com about balancing the demands of being a professional football player and entrepreneur, and what his hopes are for Bafana Bafana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) journey.

Skincare Goal: Mashego’s New Venture for a Fresh Face

“Just like in football, I believe in being strategic and being efficient in everything I do,” says Mashego.

“This translates into creating products that are effective and high quality while also delivering results quickly. I think my fans appreciate this approach and it has helped me connect with a wider audience in the beauty industry.”

Whilst it’s common for South African footballers to venture into business, Mashego has taken an unconventional approach and it’s grabbing the attention of those obsessed with loving the skin they’re in.

Balancing two different worlds is not always easy, but the ambitious 28-year-old is excited about what the future holds for his business and his football career.

Game Face: Juggling the Demands of Football and Business

Bafana Bafana have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament which is set to be hosted in Morocco next year, and Mashego shared his thoughts on the team’s chances.

He was part of the bronze medal-winning team that took part in the continental showpiece that took place earlier this year in Ivory Coast.

“I’m really excited! The guys have done the nation proud and it was important. South Africans now believe in the national team and it’s vital that we keep this spirit alive,” Mashego passionately shared with SportsBoom.

Playing AFCON in the Ivory Coast was so amazing. I believe that was the best competition in the whole world. We’ve done pretty well as underdogs and we’re proud. I believe this coming tournament, teams will respect us a bit because of what we’ve done the last time

The Downs defender is part of the younger generation that is shaping the future of the national team and with his aspirations in business, he has shown versatility and perseverance in his talents.

Chasing Victory: Breaking the Self-Care Stigma and Retaining Focus

“To maintain focus and energy, I prioritise my skincare routine just as much as I do my training regimen,” Mashego states proudly.

“Consistency is key, whether it’s on the field or with my skincare. My advice to fans who want to balance work and self-care like I do is find a routine that works for you and stick to it.”

“Setting aside time for yourself is important, and taking care of your skin can have a positive impact on your overall well-being. Remember to prioritise self-care and find ways to stay energised and focused. Both in your daily routine and in your pursuits.”

A modern athlete, Terrence Mashego is the epitome of a star who breaks boundaries. What lies ahead for the player is exciting and he’s ready to dive further into what the world has to offer.

As much as football is a physical sport, it also requires an immense amount of mental strength to navigate setbacks such as injuries or a dip in form.

“In football, scrutiny is inevitable both on and off the pitch. I believe that my brand can help shape conversations around self-care and confidence for men in sports,” he concluded.
