Alaves Current Form – DLDDD
Alaves hasn’t been able to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six games and that has become a cause for concern. They have struggled to get going this season and now find themselves toward the back end of the La Liga table.
The one positive for the hosts, however, is that they are unbeaten under their new coach. Argentine Eduardo Coudet has taken over from Luis Garcia and whilst he hasn’t managed to yet close out many games, they do look somewhat better set up defensively.
Key Players to Watch
- Kike Garcia: In just 16 appearances in all competition, Garcia has already managed eight goals for Alaves and leads their attacking stats. He has often single-handedly seen his team through and earned some really positive results for Alaves.
- Joan Jordan: Jordan has at times struggled to keep up with play in the middle of the park, but the 30-year-old has shown his value in his creativity and assists going forward. Defensively, his movement and screening allow for the Alaves midfield to close down space well – but they will be hopeful he delivers for the remainder of this season.
- Antonio Martinez: Martinez is another player who has shown great attacking intent for Alaves. His movement going forward and support of Kike will be vital for Alaves as the season begins to head for its end.
They will be hopeful Martinez brings his finishing boots here.

Girona Current Form – LLLLW
Girona have seemingly begun to turn things around now. The way in which they defeated Real Valladolid last time out speaks volumes to their attacking threat and ability with the ball.
Furthermore, they have begun to show a defensive stability that for a long time was devoid from all of their performances. The Catalans are without a few players, but given the confidence they are seemingly playing with, they will be confident of once again coming away with all three points on offer.
The attacking threats Girona acquired during the summer seem to have begun to settle in nicely and they will be hoping for a strong showing for the second half of the season.
Key Players to Watch
- Bryan Gil: Gil has proven to be one of the more attacking players for the visitors here. He continues to threaten in the final third and has begun to score consistent goals and assists for Girona. He has averaged 1.4 shots per half which disappointingly is the best Girona have to offer.
- Daley Blind: The former Manchester United defender might not be the most exciting asset in Spain, but at 33-years old, he has been crucial for Girona. In a squad which rotates ad nauseam and enjoys the services of many players on loan, he has been ever-present and remains a defensively sound option for manager Michel.
- Yangel Herrera: The young Venezuelan is a key part of Michel’s attacking set up and he offers a versatile alternative to Garcia in the heart of this Girona attack. He is an aggressive player who is happy to retain the ball with power and see his side drive up the field throughout the match.
His strong passing and dynamic movement is only complimented by his goal scoring ability which often pops up in the tightest of situations!
Girona Team News
Bojan Miovski (ankle injury) and Viktor Tsygankov (foot injury) are confirmed absentees for this encounter.

Suggested Bets
These are our suggested and value bets for this la Liga clash!
Over 2.5 Goals: The defensive instability of both these two teams brings pretty much every goal scoring market into the fray. Back over 2.5 goals here at 10/10 (2.0) with BetWinner
Girona/Draw: For the conservative punters, if you don’t want to have a punt on the nose, back the visitors to avoid defeat with the security of the win/draw double chance. 4/10 (1.4) with Pinnacle.
Both Teams to Score (Yes): Neither side has shown a defensive stability, they have leaked goals left right and center! Back both teams to score here. 8/10 (1.8) with Betway and 1xBet.
Value Bets
Girona + BTTS: If you are searching for a bit of extra value, combine the Girona win with both teams scoring. You can get as much as 22/5 (5.4) with BetWinner and Pinnacle
Girona Win/Draw + BTTS: For a bit of extra cover, but just as much value, back Girona on the win/draw double chance and both teams scoring. 8/5 (2.6) with Betway and BetWinner.
Girona Win: The attacking threats the visitors pose, coupled with their balanced midfield and strong defensive system, makes us think they win this game. 7/4 (2.75) with Betway.
Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals
These two teams are in desperate need of the three points on offer. However, the vice for both is their defensive instability. Neither have looked as though they can keep clean sheets on a consistent basis – especially when the opponent poses a significant attacking threat.
For us, backing over 2.5 goals in this game deserves provident fund confidence!
