Las Palmas vs Osasuna Preview

This will only be the fourth encounter in La Liga between these two teams in six years, as the other two were played in Spain’s Segunda League. Osasuna has a slight advantage over Las Palmas with two wins compared to the latter’s solitary triumph in 2019, a 4-1 thrashing in La Liga 2.

Osasuna are without a win in their five last games but are just below the top ten positions at twelfth place, with their only wins in 2025 coming in the Copa del Rey. Las Palmas, despite their defeat to Real Madrid, have done well to keep away from the relegation positions.

Head-to-Head Record

Head-to-head encounters between Osasuna and Las Palmas are divided between La Liga and La Liga 2 as both teams have spent some time in the lower divisions, coming and going as well in La Liga over the years.

Overall, Osasuna have a better record over their visitors and will be looking to extend their winning streak to two in a row on the day.

Last 5 Meetings

  1. 21/09/24: Osasuna 2-1 Las Palmas

  2. 25/02/24: Las Palmas 1-1 Osasuna

  3. 11/11/23: Osasuna 1-1 Las Palmas

  4. 25/09/19: Osasuna 2-0 Las Palmas

  5. 21/01/19: Las Palmas 4-1 Osasuna

Las Palmas Current Form – LWDWW

Las Palmas have only two losses in five La Liga games and have been able to lift themselves out of the danger zones with the seven points they won in that period.

Any positive result against Osasuna will secure their cushion over teams already in the red zone, and looking at their home form, the indication of them getting something out of this game is witnessed.

The Island team have won three out of five home games in La Liga and only lost twice. Their wins came against Espanyol, Real Valladolid and Girona, all close encounters won by a one-goal margin. Good home form will serve them well, and this is something we predict the manager will place great emphasis on.

Key Players to Watch

  • Fabio Silva: The only player to get a goal in their loss away at the Santiago Bernabeu, Silva will be a potential threat to Osasuna’s defence.
  • Jasper Cillessen: Despite conceding four goals in their last game, Jasper Cillessen was ironically the best player of the day for Las Palmas and were it not for him, Madrid would have scored more.
  • Mika Marmol: Marmol could not hold off Real Madrid’s strong midfield in their 4-1 loss but has the potential to improve in this game.

Las Palmas Team News

Dario Essugo will be returning from suspension owing to an accumulation of yellow cards, while several players such as Jose Campana, Viti and Martin will return from niggling injuries.

Osasuna Current Form - DLLDD

Osasuna will be the team more desperate for a change in fortunes coming into this encounter, having not had a win in their last five La Liga games, with two losses against Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao and three draws. In front of goal, they have not been prolific as reflected by the negative goal difference.

Vicente Moreno’s men have conceded twenty-eight goals, as compared to the twenty-five they have scored. Most of their games have ended with goalless stalemates or victories or losses by one goal margin. This will be something the manager would want to see change, considering the importance of goals as tiebreakers in determining the final standing of clubs in football.

Key Players to Watch

  • Ruben Garcia: Got a goal the last time out and will be confident heading into this encounter. We tip him to be a key player for his team.
  • Flavien Boyomo: Boyomo received joint-best ratings for his team in their 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano and his defensive abilities and physical prowess will make things difficult for Las Palmas’ forwards.
  • Pablo Ibanez: Did not have a good game the last time out, but Ibanez remains a key player nonetheless, a player just behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Osasuna Team News

Brian Zaragoza will be returning from a foot injury, while Manuel Jose Arnaiz is expected to recover from an illness. A few players are at risk of suspension in Osasuna’s next few games, but overall, coach Moreno has a full complement squad.

Predicted Line-ups

  1. Las Palmas, 4-1-3-2: Cillessen, Munoz, McKenna, Herzog, Suarez, Marmol, Moleiro, Rodriguez, Munoz, Silva, Ramirez

  2. Osasuna: Herrera, Areso, Catena, Boyomo, Cruz, Torro, Moncayola, Oroz, Ibanez, Garcia, Budimir

Suggested Bets

We took a conservative approach with our suggested bets; make your pick and pair them with bets of your own on top online sports betting sites.

  1. Total Goals – Under 3.5: In their five most recent head-to-head encounters, Las Palmas and Osasuna have only played one game where there were more than three goals, and that was back when they were playing in La Liga 2. We do not think they can produce a high-scoring game and therefore predict an under 3.5 goals total in this match. (6/25 with Betway)

  2. Match Winner – Las Palmas: Despite losing three of their most recent La Liga matches, Las Palmas at least have two wins in their last five games compared to Osasuna who have not won in five. That, plus home ground advantage gives them a slight edge. (149/100 with 1xBet)

  3. Double Chance – Las Palmas Win/DrawIf a safer option is what you prefer, then a Double Chance that favours Las Palmas in all aspects is what you should go for because we predict the best Osasuna can get out of this game is a draw. (19/50 with Stake)

Value Bets

Have a look at our value bets, pick one or two and stake with good money to stand a chance of making good returns.

  1. Anytime Goal Scorer – Ruben Garcia: Form and confidence for a forward usually translate to more goals. We predict Garcia to get another goal in this encounter. (26/5 with Sportsbet.io)

  2. How Goal Will Be Scored – Goal Number 1 by Header: Teams that are not prolific in front of goal usually rely on set pieces for goals and we predict the first goal to come from a header converted from a corner or freekick. (11/2 with BetWinner)

  3. First Half Both teams to Score - Yes: In the first round of this encounter, Osasuna scored first in the thirty-ninth minute and Las Palmas quickly equalized two minutes later. We predict something similar to happen this time around. (4/1 with Betway)

Prediction: Las Palmas Win/Draw and Over 1.5 Goals

Our prediction is a Las Palmas on the Win/Draw Double Chance and Over 1.5 goals, and this is despite their loss to Real Madrid. We believe they can do better than their visitors. (77/100 with Sportsbet.io).
