MALLORCA: CURRENT FORM – LLLWW
In 2025, Mallorca have arguably been the worst club in Spain, unable to score a single goal in five matches (losing all five games) across all competitions with three of those defeats coming in La Liga against Villarreal (4-0), Real Betis (0-1), and Atletico Madrid (2-0).
Jagoba Arrasate’s men now find themselves dumped out of the Copa del Rey, by third-tier Pontevedra (3-0), and seemingly off the pace for possible UEFA Europa League qualification, surrendering their position in January to Rayo Vallecano (6th) and Osasuna (7th).
Prior to last week’s loss away at title-chasing Atletico Madrid, Arrasate stated that Los Bermellones “need to regain the essence of the first half of the season”, the approach will be the same going into this crucial encounter.
Mallorca succumbed to a 1-0 defeat on the opening day of La Liga, after failing to clear their lines with Osasuna’s Ruben Garcia pouncing on the second ball and smashing the ball into the net to claim maximum points.
Despite the lack of goals, Mallorca haven’t signed anyone during the January transfer window fully placing their trust in strikers Cyle Larin and Vedat Muriqi to regain their form from earlier this season.
“Pablo Maffeo, when he was at Girona, was the hardest defender I’ve ever faced,” claimed Lionel Messi. The diminutive Argentine full-back was ruled out of last weekend’s game with Atletico Madrid at the very last moment citing discomfort.
Maffeo, along with Johan Mojica are essential in Arrasate’s plan to quickly shift the ball to wider areas and get crosses into Larin and Muriqi.
KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Johan Mojica: The Columbian full-back has been the only shining light amidst a poor string of results, consistently getting into the opposition's half, attempting to create goal-scoring opportunities with pin-point crosses after using his silky football and acceleration.
- Robert Navarro: Coming on regularly as an impact substitution is currently the preferred role for the 22-year-old midfielder, suiting Navarro perfectly when Mallorca are throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition in the final 20 minutes, seemingly gelling more naturally with striker Vedat Muriqi.
- Vedat Muriqi: The imposing 194cm tall frame of Muriqi is the most potent threat to goal that Los Bermellones possess. The Kosovo striker will be pivotal in what’s expected to be a low-scoring affair with few clear-cut chances.
MALLORCA TEAM NEWS
Defender Pablo Maffeo will be racing against time to be fully fit for this clash, while midfielders Antonio Sanchez (hamstring) and Manu Morlanes (knee injury) are long-term absentees, hoping to make a return to action this campaign. Meanwhile, midfielder Omar Mascarell is expected to reclaim his position in the starting XI after serving his suspension (red card vs Real Betis).
OSASUNA: CURRENT FORM – WDDLL
Osasuna have leapfrogged Mallorca in the La Liga standings, coming into this fixture unbeaten in three matches with a pair of 1-1 draws against in-form Rayo Vallecano and Las Palmas followed up by last weekend’s impressive 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad, courtesy of an Ante Budimir brace.
On home soil, Vicente Moreno’s troops are statistically the fourth-best team in La Liga (behind Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao). However, their struggle has been converting that form on their travels (only the bottom four clubs have a worse record), scoring just six goals in 10 matches.
Following last week’s La Liga victory over Real Sociedad, Moreno stated: "It was a great match, although the match of our lives is coming on Thursday. We are very happy; we have been wanting to get this victory for many matches. We have worked hard and in the end, it has happened. The role of the fans has been crucial.
"We were spoiled by that goal, but Budimir deserves extra recognition. He's making history. He's continuing to do what he wants and he's not going to stop.
"It is normal that people get excited, we give our lives so that they have excitement. For Thursday there were more than 6,000 people who signed up for the draw, it is something incredible, everything we get is for them."
Referring to Osasuna’s midweek Copa del Rey tie against Real Sociedad which will surely have a factor to play in this match, seeing as Mallorca will have the entire week to solely prepare for this crucial La Liga encounter.
KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Bryan Zaragoza: The 23-year-old forward on loan from Bayern Munich is one of the most promising players in Spain. Returning in a cameo role off the bench last week, Zaragoza is expected to make his first start since December 2024 and continue adding to his five La Liga assists.
- Aimar Oroz: In recent games, Oroz has come to the forefront, especially during the first half of matches. Scoring against Las Palmas and assisting Budimir for the opening goal against Real Sociedad.
- Ante Budimir: The Croatian striker is in fine form, Osasuna’s top-goal scorer (12 goals) this campaign will aim to elevate his club into the top six by regularly finding the back of the net.
OSASUNA TEAM NEWS
Without any major injury concerns to deal with, Osasuna decided to allow defender Nacho Vidal (Real Oviedo) and midfielder Javi Martinez (Eibar), to leave the club on free transfers. Meanwhile, winger Iker Benito has joined CD Mirandes on loan to get more playing time under his belt in La Liga 2.

Under 2.5 Goals: Matches between these sides haven’t been free-scoring thrillers for fans. With the same thoughts in mind, this bet holds strong appeal. (44/100 with Betway) (43/100 with Stake) (43/100 with 1Win)
Mallorca Total (Total 1.5): Under 1.5 The home team have failed to score in five games, so backing Mallorca to score under two goals offers a decent purchase. (50/100 with Betway) (50/100 with Stake) (50/100 with 1Win)
VALUE BETS
Osasuna Total (Total 0.5): Over 0.5 This selection just requires Osasuna to score once. Offering decent value, this is a solid bet. (76/100 with Betway) (75/100 with Stake) (75/100 with 1Win)
Osasuna To Win Either Half: (Yes) Osasuna tend to perform well in the first half and allow their opposition into the game by inviting pressure during the second half. Lucrative option on offer. (165/100 with Betway) (165/100 with Stake) (165/100 with 1Win)
Osasuna Win: The away win is a profitable option. Mallorca have been poor, displaying very few indications to bet on anything else. (320/100 with Betway) (310/100 with Stake) (310/100 with 1Win)
PREDICTION: OSASUNA TO EDGE OUT A VICTORY
Osasuna are expected to extend the gap between themselves and Mallorca by winning this Monday night clash. Going against the bookies’ favourite and backing Osasuna to pile on the misery for a struggling Mallorca outfit is the best bet. If you’re not convinced, the Double Chance option should be considered.
