Arsenal Current Form - WWWWD
Given the fact that City and Liverpool have dominated the headlines in recent weeks, Arsenal have quietly gone about their business and remained relevant in the race for the league.
If they are able to ensure they keep their squad fit, they will always be a competitive team and whilst they will want to keep pace with Liverpool – they might just have the chance to claim silverware elsewhere. We saw what Martin Odegaard getting injured did to their teams success – they cannot afford a repeat of that during this busy festive season.
Key Players to Watch
- Martin Odegaard: What he does for this Arsenal side is extraordinary. Yes, he, himself is a great player who brings another level to the quality in the middle of the park, but he has the ability to make those around him better as well!
- Bukayo Saka: This is a player who looks to have a new lease on life at the moment. He has found another rich run of form and each time he goes forward he looks as though he can score. He is an absolute nightmare for defensive teams and if given space, he can hurt you from anywhere.
- Jurrien Timber: Arguably one of the most underrated players on the Arsenal side, he has been immense for Mikel Arteta’s side this year. His willingness to overlap when going forward adds to their attacking threat, but his defensive duels are second to none. He truly is the complete modern wide defender.
Arsenal Team News
At the time of writing, Arsenal is without Ben White (Knee injury) for this match.
Everton Current Form - WLDDL
Sean Dyche hasn’t had the luxury of unbridled support come his way while at Goodison Park. They have really struggled to score in recent weeks and, well frankly it doesn’t look to be getting any better.
Sean Dyche has built a career on understanding the demands of the league, taking that into account against his side’s strengths and weaknesses and then employing a gritty and uncompromising defensive structure to ensure teams find it difficult to break them down.
At Everton, it has to be said, it just hasn’t happened for them.
Key Players to Watch
- Jarrad Branthwaite: He has been admired by the so-called big boy in the league, and you can understand why. His athleticism, coupled with his fearless approach to defending has proven invaluable for the Toffees so far this season. They will need to find a more consistent defensive approach, but the youngster is certainly one to watch.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin: The striker has seemingly struggled to find consistent playing time under Sean Dyche, but his ability has never been questioned. You know exactly what you get from him upfront and with his pace and power he is always a danger to opponents.
- Vitaliy Mykolenko: He is another player who often remains under the radar, but he has been superb for Everton. He is a strong defender, but with the pace, shot and power to get up and down on the flank he has shown that he can be a handful when given the freedom of space.
Everton Team News
Everton are without Youssef Chermiti (Foot injury) for this encounter.

Suggested Bets
Our betting suggestions and City vs United prediction are outlined below.
Arsenal Win: In truth, there is nothing to suggest that Arsenal do not win this. Their attacking data speaks for itself and given the solidity of their defensive approach, backing the hosts can be done with provident confidence. 1/4 (1.2) with Betway/Bet365.
Arsenal Win + Over 2.5 Goals: Everton have shown that when they are put under pressure defensively, they capitulate. Furthermore, the team with one of the worst set piece defensive records meets the side with the best attacking numbers…back Arsenal and over 2.5 goals.11/10 with Betway/Bet365.
Arsenal (-1) Handicap: Back Arsenal to overcome a -1 handicap when they host Everton at the Emirates. 39/50 (1.78) with Betway/Bet365.
Value Bets
Arsenal Win to Nil: Everton have struggled to create any chances upfront. They have one of the worst expected goals output data and now face a side who have shown an incredible defensive ability.
Back Arsenal to win to nil here. 11/10 with Betway/Bet365.
Saka – Anytime Scorer: Saka is incredibly lethal in front of goal, couple that with the fact that Everton will have to allow their wide defenders to get up the field -therefore creating space – and you have Saka in tons of space. Back the English international to find the back of the net. 13/10 with Betway/Bet365.
Arsenal (Halftime/Fulltime): Arsenal to get off to a flyer and in a winning position at halftime and fulltime are priced at generous odds. Get on at 37/50 (1.78) with Betway/Bet365
Prediction: Arsenal Win to Nil
You just cannot see past the Arsenal win – at least as a starting point. Furthermore, Everton have struggled to score and create chances in front of goal, it really isn’t great reading for the Toffees when you consider they now face an Arsenal side with one of the best defensive records in the league.
