Arsenal host West Ham United in a London derby on Saturday evening in what promises to be a well-contested affair in the Capital. Mikel Arteta has just won Manager of the Month for his team’s display in January and will look to keep the good run of form going against a West Ham team in transition under new manager, Potter.

The Gunners are fresh off their 5-1 thumping of Champions Manchester City and spirits must be high in the camp; however, they are still six points behind log-leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.

Potter’s team are in a more precarious position in 15th place on 27 points and is desperate for points to put some breathing space between them and those below them.

Arsenal Current Form – DWDWW

Arteta’s side has been consistent in the league and managed to just about keep up the pace with the impressive Liverpool. The North London team have drawn twice and won three in their last five with their most recent win a 5-1 humbling of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Emirates has been a fortress for the Arsenal faithful and remains the only stadium in the league yet to see defeat for their team, making them a strong pick in online betting markets.

Key Players to watch

  • Leandro Trossard: The Belgian has stepped up in Bukayo Saka’s absence. Trossard has been sublime and can play across the front three for Arteta’s team, making it extra difficult to prepare for the forward.
  • Kai Havertz: The German hitman has been a constant goal threat for Arsenal this season while at the same time being a tireless runner into the channels. The 25-year-old is the highest score in the league for his club with nine goals.
  • Myles Lewis-Skelly: The academy graduate has burst onto the scene and looks like a ready-made Premier League player. Since being thrown into the starting XI by Arteta, the 18-year-old has already featured ten times in the league and registered his first goal for the club against Manchester City in the 5-1 drubbing.

Arsenal Team News

Gabrielle Martinelli picked up a hamstring injury in the EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle and joins long-term absentees Bukayo Saka (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus, both knee injuries in the medical room. Ben White has recently stepped up his recovery and might be fit in time for the visit of the Hammers.

West Ham Current Form – LWLDL

It has been a mixed bag of results for the visitors and new manager, Potter, will be crying out for some consistency as the pressure from the teams below heats up. Just one victory in five is not good reading and a response is needed to ensure there are no relegation scares in the latter part of the season.

Key Players to watch

  • Jarrod Bowen: The England international has been the Irons’ best creative attacker. Bowen has six goals and four assists in 20 Premier League games, meaning he registers a goal contribution every two games.
  • Mohammed Kudus: Explosive, direct and skilful. The Ghanaian is a defender’s nightmare to mark for 90 minutes. Kudus is one of the Hammers’ best players and the 24-year-old needs to take more responsibility in these crunch times for the London club.
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka: The former Manchester United star has reignited his career at West Ham. The right-back has been solid for his new club all season, featuring in 23 Premier League games and registering three goal contributions in the process.

West Ham United Team News

West Ham will be without Michail Antonio, who is nursing a leg injury. New winger, Crysencio Summerville is dealing with a muscle issue. Niclas Fullkrug remains unavailable due to a hamstring problem, and Jean-Clair Todibo is also a doubt after picking up a knock.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Havertz, Trossard

  2. West Ham (4-2-3-1): Areola, Coufal, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson, Soucek, Irving, Wan-Bissaka, Bowen, Soler, Kudus

Suggested Bets

If you are on the hunt for some reliable football bookmakers to place your Premier League bets with, look no further!

  1. Over 2.5 Goals: The home team have been free-scoring of late and there could be goals against a West Ham team struggling for form. (27/50 with Betway)

  2. First Goal: Arsenal: The Gunners are generally fast starters and West Ham like to play on the counter so odds are they will be under pressure early on. Arsenal to score first is a good shout. (3/10 with Stake)

Value Bets

Be sure to take advantage of the most valuable football betting offers in the match.

  1. Which Team to Score: Arsenal Only

Arteta’s side have conceded the second-fewest goals in the division (22). Expect another solid defensive showing from the Gunners who could keep a clean sheet. (53/50 with Betway)

  2. Halftime/Fulltime: Arsenal/Arsenal

Expect the home team to dominate affairs on Saturday and with the form they are in, to win both halves. (33/50 with Stake)

Prediction: Arsenal and Over 2.5 goals

The Gunners have been in excellent form lately and just brushed aside the champions Manchester City, scoring five in the process. Couple that with the poor form of the Hammers and the fact that Arsenal won 5-2 in the reverse fixture, it is likely the home team win, and at a canter. Arsenal and Over 2.5 goals is a good pick in this clash.
