Brentford vs Liverpool Preview: Odds, Tips and Prediction

Venue: Gtech Community Stadium Kickoff Time: 15:00 (UK Time) Liverpool will know that the league might, at this point, be their league to lose, but every point is still incredibly valuable, and this game is no different. Brentford are a tough nut to crack at home, they play with a confidence which makes any Brentford Liverpool prediction at the Gtech difficult. Nevertheless, our weekend betting slips are important – SportsBoom breaks it all down.

Brentford Current Form – LDLWL

I wouldn’t read too much into the Brentford game in the FA Cup – where they suffered a massive shock defeat – or even the game against City earlier in the week. The Bees are a strong outfit at home and that doesn’t change.

Thomas Frank will know this is a bit of a free-hit and that might just take the pressure of the home side a bit and allow them to once again register a positive performance. The Bees pose an attacking threat and if they are able to remain compact against a fluid Liverpool attack, then a positive Brentford prediction begins to take centre stage!

Key Players to Watch

  • Kevin Schade: Schade isn’t a name too familiar with Premier League fans, but the quality he has upfront might impress Brentford fans. He seems to be a fearless finisher and without any intimidation by towering defensive figures, he might just be one to watch here.
  • Bryan Mbeumo: Mbeumo is once again a player mentioned when analysing Brentford. He is a prolific scorer and continues to lead the Bees’ attack. Granted, his game can come across rather simplistic and his movement subtle, but don’t be surprised to see him find the back of the net.
  • Nathan Collins: Speaking of towering figures, Collins has proven to be a rather reliable defensive option for Thomas Frank. Robust and physical out of possession, he also offers an option at set pieces. If he is given more opportunities, he could be something special…

Brentford Team News

Aaron Hickey (hamstring strain), Ethan Pinnock (hamstring strain), Gustavo Nunes (back injury), Josh Da Silva (knee injury) and Kristoffer Ajer (ankle injury) are all unavailable for the Bees.

Liverpool Current Form – WWDLW

At the risk of (unintentionally) eliciting a response from our dear friends on Merseyside – Liverpool have been rather disappointing of late. Their sort of placid and uninspiring approach to their recent fixtures might not necessarily be cause for concern in the league – but surely, they calm the stormy waters of quadruple and Ballon d’Or talk…

The worry with Liverpool is that their game is dependent on a ruthless approach and when that is lacking, they just look laboured and placid. Arne Slot’s side is still at the summit of the league though so who are we to judge…

Key Players to Watch

  • Alex Mac Allister: Alex Mac Allister might be one of the most underrated midfielders at Liverpool. He isn’t a player that is going to steal all of the headlines, but he will leave it all on the field for the Reds. They will want another big performance from him here.
  • Alisson Becker: Alisson has taken back his place as the Liverpool number one keeper after his injury. He has seamlessly returned to his best and remained an important player for Arne Slot’s side. His distribution isn’t often an aspect spoken about but it’s incredible and drives his team forward…expect the same here.
  • Luis Diaz: Diaz hasn’t been able to nail down a place in the Liverpool starting XI, but whenever he is on the field he adds incredible value to their attacking threat. Diaz seems to be better as a wide player, but when unleashed through the centre as a number nine his attacking threat remains!

Liverpool Team News

Joe Gomez (hamstring strain) is the only player unavailable.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Brentford: 4-3-3

Flekken, Roeslev, van den Berg, Collins, Lewis-Potter, Norgaard, Jensen, Damsgaard, Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.

  2. Liverpool: 4-2-3-1

Alison, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Diaz.

Suggested Bets

These are our betting strategies and avenues for this game.

  1. Brentford Win/Draw: Yes, the Bees have struggled at home for the past few games but our faith in their home record remains steadfast. If Liverpool aren’t at their level-best they could be in trouble here. 13/20 (1.65) with 1xBet and Stake.

  2. Both Teams to Score: The attacking options these two teams have points in one direction and that is the Both Teams to Score market. With full heart and voice, get behind it!  16/25 (1.64) with 1xBet and Stake.

  3. Brentford Win/Draw + Both Teams to Score (Yes): Combining these two options make for a seriously attractive looking bet. Get on with your trusted sportsbook. (2.85) with 1xBet and Stake.

Value Bets

  1. Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 Goals: In truth, a bet for those not too confident about the home result…back the goals markets freely here. (1.82) with Betway.

  2. Both Halves Over 1.5 Goals: There is the suggestion that this game is going to be rather open, these two teams might have to go toe-to-toe and as such we back over 1.5 goals per half at 1/1 (2.0) with Betway.

  3. Brentford Win: Admittedly this is a value bet and nothing more. Brentford can cause a placid Liverpool trouble and if they manage to get into full swing, we think they could get a shock victory and claim all three points. 18/10 (2.8) with 1xBet and Stake.

Prediction: Brentford Win/Draw Double Chance + Both Teams to Score

The Bees can take something away from this game and avoid defeat if they play to their strength at home. Fearless and unforgiving when going forward and given the attacking threats they have upfront, don’t be surprised to see a bit of a surprise spring up here. Insofar as the Both Teams to Score add-on is concerned, we think this is the case for a rather open affair.
