Brighton Current Form – WWDLL

After appointing Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton have focused on quick transitions and intensity with and without the ball, shifting away from possession domination, and has enjoyed a successful run up to this point, with Hurzeler being the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history.

Before the disappointing 3-0 defeat at home against Aston Villa, the Seagulls had been on a five-game unbeaten streak, displaying Hurzeler’s focus on attacking football and collective strength. The draw at Man City showed both determination and resilience, while victories over Southampton and fellow European contenders, Fulham and Bournemouth, displayed their quality and team chemistry by outplaying their opponents with incisive, well-orchestrated tactics. Furthermore, the defeat to Crystal Palace would have dampened the spirits within the squad, but a quick turnaround is required as another important three points are up for grabs.

Key Players To Watch

  • Joao Pedro: Pedro is quick and bright with his movement, possesses an eye for a pass, and can dribble past players with ease. His creativity adds an extra dimension to his team's attack. Known for his composure, the Brazilian is particularly effective in front of goal. He has a cool temperament, which is evident in his penalty-taking and open-play finishing.
  • Kaoru Mitoma: Mitoma is renowned for his ability to glide past defenders with ease. His quick feet, low center of gravity, and sharp turns make him a key figure in attack for his team. With a keen sense of positioning and movement, he knows when to cut inside or stay wide, making him unpredictable and difficult to defend against.
  • Lewis Dunk: Dunk is a formidable presence in the air. He is effective in both defensive and offensive set-pieces, often contributing with crucial headers. Known for his robust tackling and ability to read the game well, his timing in challenges is usually impeccable, which helps him win back possession and start counterattacks, as Dunk is excellent with the ball at his feet.

Brighton Team News

Jason Steele is still recovering from the shoulder surgery he underwent in late January and has made great progress, which could see him back in the mix soon.

Igor was seen taking his first steps in his rehabilitation since being announced out for the season due to hamstring surgery. This is a positive update for the club, and he is expected to return stronger next season.

Ferdi Kadioglu is struggling to return from his long-term toe injury, which is slowly reducing his chances of coming back before the end of the season.

Tariq Lamptey is closing in on a return to action after missing three games. The defender is recovering from an ankle injury and will undergo further tests to determine his availability.

Adam Webster (muscle injury) and Georginio Rutter (ankle injury) could be sidelined until the end of the season. They will be assessed in the coming weeks to determine if a return before the end of the season is possible.

Leicester City Current Form – LLLLL

Leicester has gone through a tough two months of football, February and March, remaining winless across seven matches in the league without scoring a single goal. That being said, Ruud van Nistelrooy has insisted that they will not throw in the towel, even if their relegation is confirmed before the final match of the Premier League season.

With seven games left to play, there is only pride and the badge to play for, although, mathematically, it is not over for the Foxes. A change in mindset and tactical flexibility is essential to improve the team spirit and performance because the last five games have been disastrous, to say the least.

Despite the horrendous losing streak, the last two matches against Brighton ended in a draw, which should give them much-needed confidence and belief to go out and put in a performance worthy of putting points on the board.

Key Players To Watch

  • Facundo Buonanotte: Buonanotte has excellent vision and is adept at finding and exploiting spaces between the lines. His ability to deliver precise passes makes him a key contributor in attack. Despite his young age, Buonanotte shows great composure on the ball and makes smart decisions under pressure. This maturity in his play is one of his standout qualities.
  • Bilal El Khannouss: El Khannouss is excellent at linking midfield to attack with precision. His ability to control the tempo and create opportunities for his teammates is a standout feature of his game. He is highly skilled in dribbling, using his agility and quick feet to manoeuvre past defenders. This makes him a constant threat in one-on-one situations.
  • Jamie Vardy: Vardy's work ethic is exceptional. He constantly presses defenders, making it difficult for them to play out from the back. His relentless running and energy are key components of his game. His off-the-ball movement is outstanding. Vardy has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, which helps him capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Leicester Team News

Ruud van Nistelrooy has a full team to select from in this upcoming fixture, but one player, Fatawu Issahaku, is recovering from a torn ACL and is expected to return next season.

  2. 2
