Venue: Stamford Bridge Kickoff Time: 12:30 (UK Time) Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have begun to stutter in the Premier League and as a result given away some valuable points. The Blues are currently just on the cusp of Champions League qualification, but the competition is fierce, and it no longer seems to be a simple task.

Everton have become an incredibly stubborn side to break down. David Moyes’ return to Goodison Park saw the Toffees’ rise from a seemingly certain relegation scrap to a possible finish just outside of the top ten. They won’t give anything away here and from a betting perspective, this could be a fixture where football betting value is found in tighter markets and alternative outcomes.

Chelsea Current Form – WLWDD

To suggest that the pressure is beginning to steadily grow at Chelsea seems to be a major underestimation. Enzo Maresca has insinuated that the crowd has an effect and that the pressure at Stamford Bridge is becoming pulpable, but the reality is that all of their proverbial eggs are in the Champions League basket for next season.

Serious money has been spent on this Chelsea squad, and to suggest that they struggle to play with a winning temperament is concerning. Their inconsistency has hurt them this season, especially now in the backend, but it’s also certainly not all doom and gloom either.

They will know they need a positive result here, but Everton won’t roll over at Stamford Bridge.

Key Players to Watch

  • Cole Palmer: Cole Palmer is a standout performer for the Blues this season. His form and consistency have largely been exceptional, but his goalscoring and creative ability have no doubt endeared him to the Chelsea faithful. He is always one to watch.
  • Nicolas Jackson: Nicolas Jackson has suffered a two-month injury layoff already this season, but his return has seen a significant shift in the attacking options available to Maresca. His compliments Palmer wonderfully up front and his own physical presence in the final third brings an entirely new dimension to their game.
  • Enzo Fernandez: He is another player who has been brilliant for Chelsea throughout this season. In addition to his work rate and playing ability, he is a midfielder who provides stability and creativity to the team. He will likely play a major role in looking to disrupt Everton’s shape.

Chelsea Team News

Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Wesley Fofana remain injury concerns with hamstring struggles while Romeo Lavia is still negotiating a slight knock. The Mykhailo Mudryk saga continues to see him left out of the Chelsea side, but besides that, Maresca has a near fully fit squad to choose from.

Everton Current Form – DDLDW

Everton have been brilliant. They play with such freedom and poise under David Moyes, one wonders where they could have been had they started the season like this. They work hard and make it so difficult for opposing sides to break them down, but they are also in your face and look to match any sort of aggressive showing.

Don’t expect the Toffees to be too concerned with possession of the football, but with the players they have up front, they can afford to pick their moments and look to put pressure in the final third.

Key Players to Watch

  • Abdoulaye Doucoure: His presence in the Everton midfield is consistent. He continues to contribute to both their attacking and defensive endeavors and his work rate has seen him prove vital for the balance in this Everton side.
  • James Tarkowski: A stalwart in Everton’s defence, he provides leadership and composure alongside an aggressive defensive approach and Premier League experience. He has spent most of the season promoting their backline and maintaining a structure for Everton, and ahead of a trip to Chelsea that will be pivotal.
  • Jarrad Branthwaite: An absolute standout performer for Everton this season. He consistently delivers strong performances in a Everton jersey and given his impressive defensive statistics, his contributions have been crucial in ensuring the side build in their defensive confidence. Keep an eye on him here.

Everton Team News

Everton are currently only contending with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jesper Lindstrom struggling with strains, but outside of that, they have a full complement to pick from.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Chelsea: 4-2-3-1

Sanchez, Cucurella, Colwill, Chalobah, Gusto, Fernandez, Caicedo, Neto, Palmer, Madueke, Jackson.

  2. Everton: 4-2-3-1

Pickford, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Harrison, Doucoure, Ndiaye, Broja.

Suggested Bets

After analysing this upcoming Premier League fixture, and considering the markets available on leading online betting sites, these are our suggested bets.

  1. Chelsea Win: The Blues should have enough to get past Everton here, even if it is by the odd goal. 7/10 (1.7) with BetWinner

  2. Under 2.5 Goals: Chelsea might be hefty favourites here, but we don’t think this game is as straightforward. Everton can be stubborn and so there is value in backing a rather low-scoring affair. 8/10 (1.8) with Stake

  3. Over 9.5 Corners: This might be an option for users looking for a little extra value, these two teams have been involved in games with an abnormally large corner count and so we think it might be a betting strategy worth considering. 15/20 (1.75) with Stake.

Value Bets

New users placing these types of bets can benefit from a sign up bonus to get more value from their initial wagers.

  1. Chelsea + Under 2.5 Goals: Combine these two betting suggestions for even more value. 29/10 (3.09) with Betway

  2. Cole Palmer (Anytime Goalscorer): He has returned from injury and will no doubt want to continue to capture all of the headlines. 15/10 (2.5) with 1xBet

  3. 1st Half (Draw + Both Teams to Score – No): Keeping in line with the idea that this game will largely be quite cagey, back the first half to end all square without any goals registered.18/10 (2.8) with Pinnacle

Prediction: Chelsea to Win

Chelsea should have enough to get past a stubborn Everton side. They have exciting players throughout their team and when they click on the day, they are incredibly difficult to contain.

Furthermore, given the pressure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, the Blues will know they need to be direct and intense about their business at the Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
