After starting the season in horrendous form, Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner have turned the tide. The team from London are 12th with 30 points and also claimed a vital 2-0 win at Old Trafford in their most recent Premier League outing. The Eagles have managed to climb the table steadily and rekindle the form that Glasner put together in his early days as head coach.

Opponents Everton have had no such luck. After a similarly poor start, the Merseyside outfit have found it difficult to climb the table and put together a string of positive results and because of the inconsistency, languish in 16th. They have managed to win three games in a row in the Premier League coming into the fixture.

Pre-Game Odds and Win Probability

  3. 11/11/23 – Crystal Palace 2-3 Everton

  5. 22/10/22 – Everton 3-0 Crystal Palace

The home team has been excellent over the past five games. Three wins, one draw and one loss is good form for a team that could not get a positive result just a couple of months back. Glasner’s side also trounced Manchester United at Old Trafford in their last encounter and will be in high spirits for the Everton clash.

Key Players to watch

  • Jean-Phillipe Mateta: The big French striker is a nightmare for Premier League defenders to deal with. He has 10 goals to his name this season and has featured in all of Palace’s games in the league this season.
  • Ismaila Sarr: The winger’s up-turn in form has coincided with the Eagle’s rise in the table. The Senegalese has seven goal contributions and is a crucial part of Glasner’s attack.
  • Marc Guehi: The 24-year-old has been one of the best performers at Selhurst Park over the past couple of seasons and has even been rewarded with the captain’s armband. The centre-back also has a goal in him, recording three this campaign.

Crystal Palace Team News

The home team will be without Matheus Franca (Groin), Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad as both have knee issues and Joel Ward is still a long-term absentee.

Everton Current Form – LLWWW

The Merseyside outfit have strung three wins on the trot. Despite the two losses that came at the start of January, they have managed to put some daylight between them and 17th placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. Their most recent clash saw the Blues thump Leicester City 4-0.

Key Players to watch

  • Iliman Ndiaye: The stats show that Iliman Ndiaye has been the most productive Everton player this season. Six goals in 23 appearances in his debut season for the Senegalese are impressive numbers. The Everton number 10 is also a handful for defenders to deal with.
  • Beto: The tall, lanky centre-forward has been on the fringes of the squad lately but with main man Dominic Calvert-Lewin out, the Guinea-Bissau International will have to come to the party for the Merseyside club.
  • Abdoulaye Doucoure: The robust midfielder has been solid in the centre for Everton this season. Cleaning up attacks and getting his team on the front-foot, few are better at it in the Premier League.

Everton Team News

The visitors have been dealt a blow with several injury concerns. Seamus Coleman has a muscle injury, Youssef Chermiti has a thigh problem. Armando Broja is unavailable due to an ankle issue. Dwight McNeil and Orel Mangala are both recovering from knee injuries, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin went off with a hamstring strain in their win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Crystal Palace: 4-2-3-1: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Mitchell; Lerma, Hughes, Munoz, Kamada, Sarr, Mateta

  2. Everton: 4-4-1-1: Pickford, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye, Lindstrom, Doucoure, Ndiaye, Beto

Suggested Bets

  1. Jean-Phillipe Mateta to Score Anytime: The Frenchman has been in red-hot form recently and a goal here vs Everton has him at (8/5 with Stake)

  2. Both Teams to Score: Both Palace and Everton have found their scoring boots lately, especially in their previous five fixtures respectively. (3/5 with Betway)

Value Bets

  1. Under 2.5 goals: Expect a tight affair with both teams battling it out for the points, this could be a low-scoring encounter at Selhurst Park.  (37/25 with 1xBet)

  2. Halftime – No Score: As mentioned earlier, this could be a chess match between two well-drilled outfits. The second half could well have all the action. (2/1 with Stake)

Crystal Palace vs Everton Prediction: Both Teams to Score and Draw

Both teams come into the fixture in good form and have goals in them. Expect a cagey affair and for them to cancel each other out here. The draw and both teams to score seems a value pick.
