For the Eagles, a win will get them closer to achieving a top half finish and a continuance in the confidence and belief they are building towards. This is not a game which will shoot the lights out in terms of hype – but you have two teams who will not be afraid of each other and really go for it, what is there not to enjoy about that?

Crystal Palace Current Form – LWLWW
Crystal Palace have been playing really good football and just continue to ride the wave. Oliver Glasner’s side earned a really good result in the FA Cup last time out and now find themselves relatively comfortable in the league, with a chance at silverware.
There is no chance the Eagles can go down, which would be a welcome change for everyone at Selhurst Park. They can afford to see out the rest of the season without any unnecessary pressure and rather see whether they can earn a top half finish on the league table.
They have suffered a few injuries, which will no doubt have a role to play on the team, but we don’t see them changing their approach. Expect an aggressive Palace to try and keep Ipswich out of the game from the beginning. Expansive with possession of the football and incredibly disciplined without it.
Key Players to Watch
- Adam Wharton: A young midfielder who has quickly endeared himself to the Palace faithful. He has been instrumental in their midfield and has shown a talent which has not gone unnoticed around Europe. His ability to get his team onto the front foot again is simply second to none and he will no doubt prove valuable for the Eagles going forward.
- Eddie Nketiah: He has begun to become a pivotal striker for Palace. He is able to lead the line with incredible confidence, and if he is able to get back to his best – Palace will greatly benefit.
- Maxence Lacroix: The French defender who has come in and bolstered this Palace defence almost instantly. He continues to deliver brilliant performances and plays with this incredible sense of composed confidence.
Crystal Palace Team News
Chadi Riad (knee injury), Cheick Doucoure (knee injury), Joel Ward (calf injury) and Will Hughes (suspended) are all unavailable for this encounter.
Ipswich Current Form – WLWLW
Kieran McKenna has had to see his struggle through an incredibly tough return to the Premier League. As we mentioned earlier, their chances of survival this season are looking dimmer by the day – but as regular readers might remember, we don’t think its due to a lack of effort.
The Tractor Boys find themselves in a tough situation, their season is starting to wind down and realistically, all they have to show for it is a horrible fight with relegation. These players have stayed bold and largely confident, but they just haven’t been able to get over the line.
Key Players to Watch
- Liam Delap: In truth, there are only a few players worth mentioning for Ipswich, and Delap is certainly one of them. He is their top goalscorer this season and has been in incredible form pretty much all year. His conversion rate in the final third has been among the best in the league – so it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that other clubs are inquiring about his availability.
- Omari Hutchinson: A recruit for Ipswich from Chelsea, his ability to see his side show a degree of creativity in front of goal and attack without fear, have seen him slot right into McKenna’s starting eleven in the league. He is certainly one to watch here if he gets any game time. The club had commented that he suffered damage to his shin, but he isn’t expected to be sidelined for the long term.
- Leif Davis: A defender who has also had his name mentioned here a few times; Davis has continued to be a shining light for Ipswich’s defensive ability this season. He is a consistent player who has seen his contributions allow his side to maintain a defensive shape without sacrificing their attacking ability.
Ipswich Team News
Christian Walton (groin injuy), Arijanet Muric (shoulder injury), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles tendon injury), Conor Chaplin (knee injury), Julio Enciso (knee injury), Kalvin Phillips (calf injury), Wes Burns (cruciate ligament injury) are all sidelined due to injury.
Predicted Line-Up
Crystal Palace, 4-2-3-1: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell, Sarr, Eze, Nketiah.
Ipswich, 4-2-3-1: Palmer, Davis, Greaves, O’Shea, Tuanzebe, Cajuste, Morsy, Clarke, Hutchinson, Philogene, Delap.
Suggested Bets
Crystal Palace (Win): The way in which they have been playing football lately suggests that they will come into this game with a greater sense of confidence and add to their already impressive tally of wins. 5/10 (1.5) with BetWinner
Over 2.5 Goals: Historically, games between these two football clubs have always served up a healthy dose of goalscoring action. Back over 2.5 goals here. 7/10 (1.7) with BetWinner
Crystal Palace + Over 2.5 Goals: Combine these two betting angles for maximum value. 12/10 (2.2) with BetWinner
Value Bets
Eddie Nketiah (Anytime Goalscorer): He is such a confidence player, and his confidence only seems to be growing. Back Nketiah to find the back of the net here. 24/10 (3.4) with Betway
Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 Goals: It is another betting option where punters can take advantage of the number of goals being scored in the game. Get on! 13/10 (2.3) with Betway
Correct Score (3:1): It is obviously a much riskier bet, but back a correct score here at three goals to one. 10/1 (11.0) with Betway
Prediction: Crystal Palace to Win
It’s not a prediction where you hear it and erupt into rapturous applause, but it certainly is a football betting angle to seriously consider and add to your betting slip this weekend. Palace are a balanced side with everything needed to swat aside an often-hapless Ipswich.
