Nevertheless, this will be an explosive encounter and there will be no love lost between the two sides. Everton Current Form – WDDDD

The Toffees are faced with another stern test here. After their more recent engagement with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, David Moyes’ side will no doubt look to take points off of Arsenal here.

This Everton side lacked belief and never played with any sort of impotence – that was until Moyes arrived though. Count them out here at your peril.

Key Players to Watch

  • Beto: The striker remains in remarkable form. Ironically, he is chasing a goal scoring record which was set by Mikel Arteta when he was at Everton, under manager David Moyes, set 15 years ago – what a time to better it.
  • Idrissa Gueye: His presence and midfield ability for Everton continue to be underestimated in the Premier League. At the age of 35, he averages some of the best statistics around tackles, interceptions and a true defensive prowess.
Keep an eye on him here.
  • Iliman Ndiaye: He is another player who just continues to show a creative ability and force for Everton. Comfortable playing across the attacking line, he is often found out wide and yet consistently finds the back of the net, or indeed, assists for others.

Everton Team News

Everton remain riddled with injury concerns. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still struggling with his hamstring strain, Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye and Orel Mangala are all sidelined with knee injuries and Vitaliy Mykolenko is ruled out with a muscle injury.

Arsenal Town Current Form – WLDDW

Arsenal come into this game with just one loss from their last five. This is exactly the sort of mentality they will need to have for the remainder of the season. Granted, their title hopes might be subtle at best, but the best they can do at the moment is apply as much pressure on Liverpool as possible.

This will be a difficult game for Mikel Arteta’s side though. Goodison is a difficult place to go and play, but you now have to add the intensity of a Goodison crowd who know their stadium is about to be remodeled. To say they will be ‘loud’ is laughable.

Key Players to Watch

  • Bukayo Saka: He continues to be an instrumental winger for Arsenal within the context of this season. His injury was simply most inopportune and when you consider the level of excitement and intrigue when he was set to come back – you quickly get a sense of his influence.
  • Martin Odegaard: He continues to be instrumental in orchestrating Arsenal’s offensive approach. Serving as club captain, Odegaard has just simply got the Arsenal midfield on his shoulders. Yes, that sounds horrible – but factual nonetheless.
  • Thomas Partey: Partey is without question a versatile and expansive player for Arsenal. He isn’t always in the limelight and is happy to play the role of someone working in the shadows. His physical and nuanced attacking ability shouldn’t be taken for granted – keep an eye on him here.

Arsenal Team News

Riccardo Calafori and Takehiro Tomiyasu are still sidelined due to their respective knee injuries. Gabriel Jesus misses out due to his cruciate ligament injury and Kai Havertz is nursing a hamstring concerned.

With that all being said, this is a talented side with talent still available to them.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Everton: 4-2-3-1

Pickford, Young, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, O’Brien, Gueye, Garner, Harrison, Doucoure, Lindstrom, Beto.

  2. Arsenal: 4-2-3-1

Raya, Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly, Odegaard, Partey, Rice, Nwaneri, Merino, Martinelli.

Suggested Bets

Our suggested bets for this Premier League encounter, drawing on proven betting strategies to help guide your picks.

  1. Arsenal + Under 4.5 Goals: Arsenal are without question the stronger side, and coupled with the fact that they have a great record against the Toffees, we are backing them to clinch three points in a tight affair. 17/20 (1.85) with BetWinner

  2. Both Teams to Score (No): In truth, this has everything to do with the hosts. They have struggled offensively but also solidified their defensive ability. Back Both Teams to Score (No) at  13/20 (1.65) with Stake

  3. Everton Over 2.5 Yellow Cards: These matches will always be physical and incredibly intense. Both sides will go for it, but Everton isn’t likely to see much of the ball which will inevitably lead to even less discipline and control.

Value Bets

If you are looking for sports betting options with a little more risk and a lot more value, our suggestion is the value bet options.

  1. Half with the Most Goals (2nd Half) Everton will have to adopt a defensive approach if they want to stay relevant in this encounter. Arsenal have scored 87% of their goals between the 46-60min half…lest we say more. 12/10 (2.2) with Pinnacle

  2. Bukayo Saka - Anytime Goalscorer:: It might be a touch too soon, but this is a special player, with special abilities. Back him to find the back of the net.  18/10 (2.8) with Stake.

  3. Arsenal + Under 1.5 Goals: This is a little riskier and more aggressive option of our earlier suggestion. 45/10 (5.5) with Pinnacle.

Prediction: Arsenal to Win

The visitors have got arguably more to play for. They will be still hopeful of keeping pace with Liverpool, and even if that is a shot in the dark, Mikel Arteta will not allow his side to play any other sort of brand.

This should be a cracker!
