Everton Current Form - DWLDD

Everton would have surely wanted to record a better home record this season…This may be their last season at the famous Goodison Park, but with only two wins in seven games, their home record hasn’t been anything to run home about.

Sean Dyche’s side has been difficult to predict this season, they still don’t look terribly comfortable in their system and approach and frankly, they lack the physical certainty often associated with a Dyche side.

They will have it all to do here, but the emotion of the day shouldn’t be underestimated, it is football after all. Stranger things have certainly happened.

Key Players to Watch

  • Jordan Pickford: Largely a confidence player, Pickford often blows hot and cold until he puts on an Everton jersey. The English shot-stopper has come up with crucial saves at big moments for club and country and coupled with his leadership, the Toffees will be looking to him when they host Liverpool.
  • James Tarkowski: Consistent with his strong defensive abilities at Burnley, Tarkowski remains an essential player for Sean Dyche’s Everton side. His aerial ability, aggressive tackling and positional awareness will be vital for Everton here and given the fact that he has become Mr. Dependable – he is certainly one to keep an eye out for.
  • Jarrad Branthwaite: An admirer of many clubs around the United Kingdom, the tall and composed defender brings a welcome calm to the Toffees team. He has proven to be incredible at set piece time due to his frame and ability – and if Everton are to hurt this Liverpool side, it will surely be by virtue of a dead ball situation.

Everton Team News

Everton should be as close to full fitness for this engagement as they would have liked.

Liverpool Current Form - DDWWW

Liverpool will no doubt be hoping that Arne Slot continues to be pragmatic in his approach, conservative in his squad rotation and relentless in his attacking threat! These games are important to ensure they continue to inch toward the title, and whilst many still have reservations over their chances, it is clear to see by their performances that the Reds are going to remain relevant all season.

Whether or not Liverpool still have the depth required to go the distance on multiple fronts remains to be seen, but if they are able to move away from the emotion of the derby and play their brand of football, they should come away with a positive result and importantly, three points.

Key Players to Watch

  • Mohamed Salah: Salah has continued to prove why he is incredibly important for this Liverpool team. The form he is in currently, the shape he is in currently and the mental space he seems to be in all come together to produce one of the sport’s greatest athletes.
  • Ryan Gravenberch: We know we have spoken a lot about him, but Ryan Gravenberch is immense for Liverpool. What he does off the ball in particular, is undeniable and incredibly underrated. He is happy to do the ugly work, allowing those around him to shine…
He is without question a fan favourite.
  • Luis Diaz: Diaz might just be one of the grittiest attacking players in the world at the moment. His movement is sublime, but the fact that he is able to eliminate players whilst maintaining a sort of ‘ugly’ physical approach could be the reason for his success in England.
Games which have emotion boiling under like these are made for players like Luis Diaz!

Liverpool Team News

Liverpool still has a few important players missing out on this one due to injury but are nevertheless in a position to field an incredibly strong squad.

Predicted Line-Up

Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Doucoure; Lindstram, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin

Liverpool: 4-2-3-1

Suggested Bets

For the Premier League betting enthusiasts, these are some of the best bets to be placed at top-rated football sportsbooks

  1. Liverpool to Win: This derby has been incredibly one-sided, and we don’t see that changing here. Liverpool is simply too confident, too aggressive in their transition and have too much quality upfront. 12/25 (1.48) with Betway and Bet365

  2. Liverpool to Score First: Liverpool to open the scoring and claim all three points seem as to be the obvious plays here. We can’t see past the visitors bossing every aspect of this exchange. 2/5 (1.4) with Betway and Bet365

Value Bets

  1. Liverpool to Win to Nil: Everton’s placid approach to their opponents final third suggests that they will struggle to dislodge this Liverpool shape. When you couple this with the fact that Liverpool’s attacking prowess will overpower their hosts.31/20 (2.55) with Betway and Bet 365

Prediction: Liverpool Win

It really is as close to a banker as you might come. Liverpool is playing some really expansive football at the moment and given the quality they possess in this team; We can’t see past a Liverpool win. They are expected to dominate every aspect of this game and leave Goodison – possibly for the last time – with all three points.
