The Gunners travel to face the Tractor Boys in an exciting Premier League clash. It has been a difficult season back in the big time for Kieran McKenna’s side. The performances have been there, though, and they have been unlucky with results on a few occasions this season. The visitors, on the other hand, have been excellent this campaign but have fallen off the pace of log leaders Liverpool as we enter the final set of fixtures.

Ipswich Town Current Form – LLLWL

McKenna’s side has been impressive with their fight and determination but look set for the drop after a difficult campaign. Their form in the league over their previous five games shows how tough it has been, winning just once and losing four in the process.

Key Players to watch

  • Liam Delap: The young English striker has taken the Premier League by storm. In an underperforming Ipswich squad, Delap has managed to bag himself 12 goals and two assists and is on the radar of clubs in the top six for next season.
  • Omari Hutchinson: The former Arsenal academy graduate has become a regular starter under McKenna this season. The 21-year-old has shouldered a lot of the attacking burden and has five goal contributions to his name this campaign.
  • Kalvin Philips: The former Manchester star has reignited his career at Portman Road. The 29-year-old is an experienced player and a key part of the midfield for the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich Team News

Wes Burns is out with a knee injury, while Chiedozie Ogbene has an Achilles issue. Samuel Szmodics will miss the tie with an ankle issue, and Omari Hutchinson should shrug off his hamstring strain in time to face his former side. Other than that, McKenna has a fully fit side to choose from.

Arsenal Current Form – DDWWD

Arteta’s side has been struggling with injuries this season, and it has cost them important points. The Gunners are unbeaten in their previous five games but will need to turn some of those draws into victories. Just two wins are sandwiched between three draws for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Key Players to watch

  • William Saliba: The French centre-back is a stalwart defender in the Arsenal backline. Saliba is calm and has the ability to read the game to an elite level, making him one of the best defenders in the league.
  • Leandro Trossard: The Belgian has stepped up in Bukayo Saka’s absence. Trossard has been sublime and can play across the front three for Arteta’s team, making it extra difficult to prepare for the forward.
  • Myles Lewis-Skelly: The academy graduate has burst onto the scene and has been super impressive for Arteta’s side. The 18-year-old recently made his debut for England and scored to become the youngest Three Lions player to record the feat on debut for their country.

Arsenal Team News

Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes both have hamstring injuries. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus are long-term absentees with knee injuries. Riccardo Calafiori is a doubt after suffering a knee injury on international duty with Italy in the last international break.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric, Tuanzebe, O’Shea, Greaves, Davis, Morsy, Cajuste, Hutchinson, Encisco, Broadhead, Delap

  2. Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya, White, Saliba, Kiwior, Tierney, Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard

It is set to be a tight affair at Portman Road. Arteta will certainly rotate his squad after their trip to face Real Madrid in the Champions League.
