You have to feel for Ruud van Nistelrooy. He seems to be quite a competent coach, with a real focus on attacking sequences of play, but it just hasn’t happened for him at Leicester. His interim role at United looked promising, but his inability to curb the defensive issues at Leicester have seen the Foxes languish in a relegation scrap. 

We have very little confidence in the home side, they have struggled and shown very little insofar as improvement is concerned. Sport betting sites seem to maintain some belief in Leicester, reflected by their competitive showing in the markets, which is great news for the shrewd punter! 

Key Players to Watch

  • Mads Hermansen: This is a player we don’t think has been spoken about enough. The young keeper has come into a side who have serious defensive issues and continued to register seriously impressive performances.
  • Bilal El Khannouss: The Moroccan international has had a baptism of fire in the Leicester midfield, but for the most part, he has certainly held his own. Growing in confidence with each game, he has been vital to the Foxes’ ability to break down the game and will be vital once again here.
  • Wilfred Ndidi: Another unassuming character at Leicester, Ndidi has been brilliant for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team. Aiding in his side’s ability to turn attack into defence, Ndidi will be important against a Brentford side capable of hurting you from anywhere on the pitch.

Brentford have seemingly put all of their proverbial eggs into the Premier League basket. Their 3rd round defeat to Plymouth Argyle is indicative of this apparent approach. The Bees find themselves on the cusp of the top half of the league table and they will know a top ten finish would be huge for their club.

Our reservation around the Bees is their inconsistency of performance, especially on the road. They play with such a free-flowing approach when on their own patch but often fail to realise these sorts of performances when playing on the road.

In Leicester, they face a wounded opponent. One who is worsened only by their current injury concerns.

  • Nathan Collins: We feel he has been really impressive during the league campaign this year. Brentford play with an aggressive defensive style, and alongside his aggressive approach, Collins is also a real threat at set-pieces. He is certainly one to watch, and if you back him to convert one of their dead-ball situations, most sport betting sites still offer very generous odds!
  • Kevin Schade: Schade has taken his chances of starting in the Brentford first team with both hands and refuses to let go. He is such a dynamic player who knows how to make life difficult for his opponents. Keep an eye on him here.
  • Bryan Mbeumo: Is there any real Brentford analysis without Mbeumo? He contines to be a talisman for the Bees and just doesn’t know how to stop scoring goals. It is no surprise that teams across England are intrigued by him, but for now Brentford will surely enjoy him!
