The quality in the Premier League has proved a bridge too far for the Foxes this season. Ruud van Nistelrooy tried to save them from the drop but it has been a tough ask for the former Manchester United striker. Leicester have lost four of their previous five games in the league and drawn the other.

Key Players to Watch

  • Jamie Vardy: The mercurial Vardy has proved that age is just a number. The 38-year-old has been one of Leicester’s best players this campaign and he has 10 goal contributions to show for it.
  • James Justin: The full-back is capable of playing on either side of the defence and is a key part of their backline. Justin has three goal contributions in 30 Premier League games this season.
  • Wilfred Ndidi: The Nigerian is a key cog in the Foxes' midfield. Ndidi has featured 23 times this season in the Premier League and has four assists from defensive midfield.

Leicester City Team News

The home side will be without Abdul Fatawu who has a knee injury, while Wout Faes and Jeremy Monga both have knocks and will be assessed ahead of the visit of the Reds. Nistelrooy’s side drew their previous game and will take some confidence heading into the tie.

Liverpool Current Form – WWWLW

Arne Slot’s side have lost just once and won the other four of their previous five Premier League games. With just six games to go, they look certain to be crowned champions of England for a record-equalling 20th time.

Key Players to watch

  • Mohamed Salah: The Egyptian is putting on a spectacle in the Premier League. Salah’s numbers are not normal, and neither is the consistency of output. He has 45 goal contributions in the league in 32 matches.
  • Dominik Szoboszlai: The 24-year-old looks to be settling in well at Liverpool in his second season at the club. The silky midfielder does not stop running for the 90 minutes, and he can strike the ball with both feet.
  • Alexis Mac Allister: The Argentinian has become one of the first players on Slot’s team sheets. The 26-year-old is reliable and has been controlling the midfield for the Reds this season.

Liverpool Team News

Joe Gomez is a long-term absentee with a hamstring injury. Youngster Tyler Morton has a shoulder issue, and Trent Alexander-Arnold has an ankle issue and will miss the trip to the King Power Stadium.
