Liverpool Current Form – LDWDW

Liverpool is a consistent side, who have enjoyed a few favourable results. Their form doesn’t exactly shoot the lights out, but their ability to find a way to stay in the game is the perfect juxtaposition.

After a tricky game against Villa, Arne Slot’s side responded brilliantly. They knew that City lacked confidence and took full advantage of that. You have to expect them to do the same against a Newcastle side who blow hot and cold themselves.

Key Players to Watch

  • Mohamed Salah: He continues to be a pivotal figure for Liverpool. Currently leading the Premier League with 24 goals to his name, he is a lethal finisher, leader and brilliant example for his club side. There is no denying his ability and so we don’t mind mentioning him time and again.
  • Ryan Gravenberch: A midfielder who has seamlessly integrated himself into this Liverpool team. His role has been incredible to watch this season and his ability to disrupt opponents while also contributing to their own attacking ability is exemplary. Keep an eye on him here.
  • Virgil van Dijk: Year in and year out he has been a cornerstone not only to their defence, but to their team’s collective success. His stability and leadership in the middle of their defence shouldn’t be taken for granted and he will surely once again be crucial if they are to go on and lift the league title.

Liverpool Team News

Connor Bradley (thigh injury), Joe Gomez (hamstring injury) and Tyler Morton (shoulder injury) are all unavailable.

Newcastle Current Form – LWWLW

Newcastle was really flat against City before responding really well in their win over Forest. The concern here though is that while the response is impressive, it speaks to their inability to perform at a high level consistently. And to be fair, its largely the reason they are in 5th place.

The Newcastle attacking threat is undeniable though, with players like Alexander Isak up front, they will always carry a real threat and can hurt any defensive system in the league. Against Liverpool at Anfield though, it will be more about dealing with the environment and intensity for the Magpies.

Key Players to Watch

  • Alexander Isak: Isak has been in exceptional form. He recently became the Premier League’s all-time top-scoring Swede and with 19 goals already this season, he doesn’t look to be slowing down. His movement aids in this Newcastle threat and he will be looking forward to the challenge of Liverpool.
  • Bruno Guimaraes: Often considered a linchpin for Newcastle, his vision, passing accuracy, and ability to control the tempo of the game all adds to the integral creativity the Magpies have approached this season with. They will need another strong performance from him here though.
  • Kieran Trippier: The experience and consistency he brings to Newcastle is a big enigmatic against the backdrop of their season, but his resolute defending and attacking contributions through crosses and set-pieces make him a dangerous addition to their ranks.

Newcastle Team News

Jamal Lascelles (cruciate ligament injury), Joelinton (knee injury) and Sven Botman (kne injury) are all sidelined due to injury.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Liverpool, 4-2-3-1: Allisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Szoboszlai, Jones, Diaz.

  2. Newcastle, 4-3-3: Pope, Hall, Burn, Schar, Livramento, Wilcock, Miley, Guimaraes, Gordon, Isak, Murphy.

Suggested Bets

Our suggested bets and Liverpool versus Newcastle prediction are listed below, offering top options for those looking to bet on Premier League action.

  1. Liverpool (Win): As much as their recent form might flatter a little bit, there is no denying they have only lost one home game all season. Back the home win here. Get on at 5/10 (1.5) with BetWinner

  2. Over 2.5 Goals: Anfield is known for their high-scoring encounters. Add to this the fact that it is a midweek game, under the lights, and you have another exciting affair. Back over 2.5 goals here. 13/20 (1.65) with Stake

  3. Both Teams to Score: Alternatively, you can back both teams scoring here at reasonably generous odds. 11/20 (1.55) with Betway

Value Bets

  1. Draw: For those happy to have a bit of a punt on the nose – back the draw here. Newcastle are a strong outfit who will not simply roll over for Liverpool here. Get on at 33/10 (4.3) with Betway

  2. First Half (Draw): A little less risky, but still with enough value to get our attention. Get on at 33/20 (2.65) with 1xBet

  3. Liverpool + Both Teams to Score: Combine this betting angle for maximum value.  16/10 (2.6) with Pinnacle

Prediction: Liverpool to Win

When it is all said and done, the smart bet here is to back the Reds at home. They have a tremendous ability; their home record is simply sublime and under Arne Slot, they continue to play with unbridled confidence.

Their attacking threats speak for themselves and in defence, they have a stability and quality which is surely among the best in Europe. A win here is another big step toward the title, and we think they do just that.
