Liverpool has been the best team in the land, there is no doubt about that. Arne Slot has come in in his first season in English football and transformed this Reds team into an attacking beast that outscores all before them. Slot’s team is six points clear at the top of the league and has a game in hand, so there is a potential nine-point gap in February! Their last outing was another routine victory, 2-0 away at Bournemouth.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have had very contrasting fortunes. After sacking manager Gary O’Neil three months into the season, new manager Vitor Pereira has been trying to steady the ship. The visitors are 17th, just a solitary place above the relegation zone. Wolves claimed a huge win in their last game out, beating a solid Aston Villa team 2-0 at home.

Liverpool Current Form – DDWWW
The log leaders are unbeaten in their last five encounters and have been in devastating form going forward. They are the divisions top-scorers with 56 goals and boast the best goal difference on 35. The 2-0 win away at Bournemouth was another example of how well they are playing. The Cherries have shown excellent form this season. The Vitality has been a fortress but even still, Liverpool did not have to even get out of second gear.

Key Players to watch
- Mohamed Salah: The Egyptian is having an all-timer season, even by his standards! Salah has been clinical in the final third and a vital contributor in difficult moments for the Reds this season. The right-winger has 34 goal contributions in just 23 Premier League games.
- Trent Alexander-Arnold: Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contribution in a Liverpool shirt has been sublime this season. Often criticised for his defensive frailties, the Englishman’s attacking capabilities certainly make up for it. Seven goal contributions from right back is impressive.
- Ryan Gravenberch: The Dutchman has exploded in his second season in England. Playing in the six, Gravenberch has controlled games and been technically secure doing it at the same time. For a team like Liverpool where games become a bit like basketball, he is doing an amazing job shutting down attacks and being a springboard to play off.
Liverpool Team News
The only long-term absentee for the Merseyside club is Joe Gomez who is nursing a hamstring injury. Alexander-Arnold also picked up a knock but should be fit for the visit of Wolves.
Wolves Current Form – DDWWW
Wolves have been on a torrid run of form. The visitors have won just a single game in five and lost the rest. That poor form has allowed 18th placed Leicester City to creep up to within just two points of Wolves. Pereira and his technical team need to get more out of this talented group.

Key Players to watch
- Matheus Cunha: Cunha's role has become even more critical recently considering that his side are now in a relegation battle. The Brazilian is Wolves’ best creative force with 11 goals and four assists to his name this season.
- Rayan Ait-Nouri: His versatility and adaptability to play as a full-back or attacking winger makes him very difficult to prepare for. The Algerian has been a consistent performer for his club this season.
- Nelson Semedo: The Portuguese right-back has been given the captain’s armband and taken on the extra responsibility well. He is a seasoned defender that bombards down the right flank and has three assists to show for his constant overlaps.
Wolves Team News
Wolves head into this clash with several key absentees due to injury. Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic, and Yerson Mosquera are all side-lined with knee injuries. Additionally, Jorgen Strand Larsen is ruled out with a muscle issue but should be fit in time for the Liverpool clash.
Predicted Line-Ups
Liverpool: 4-3-3 – Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Salah, Jota, Díaz
Wolves: 3-4-2-1 – Sa, Doherty, Dawson, Bueno, Semedo, Andre, Gomes, Ait-Nouri, Hwang, Guedes, Cunha
Suggested Bets
Here are some of the best markets to explore for Premier League Betting in the Liverpool vs Wolves clash.
Over 1.5 in the first half: As mentioned earlier, expect goals in this clash. With all the talent on show, it could be a high-scoring affair at Anfield. (89/100 with Betway)
Liverpool to win both halves: Expect Liverpool to fly out the blocks and dominate from the first minute. Their attacking prowess will be too much for Wolves to deal with and the home team to win both halves is highly likely.(27/50 with Betway)
Value Bets
Liverpool and over 3.5 goals: The Egyptian has been in scintillating form all season. Salah to score is great value especially after his brace last time out. (197/100 with Stake)
Over 3.5 goals in the game: Liverpool are the top scorers in the league and have some of the most clinical finishers in the game, over 3.5 goals look likely against a poor Wolves outfit struggling for form. (129/100 with Stake)
Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction: Liverpool and Over 3.5
Liverpool will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing such a poor Wolves outfit. The visitors have individuals that can hurt you, but at Anfield, with how the Reds are currently going, expect a massacre. Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals is a great pick in this clash.
