The longer United struggle to find a consistent performance, the longer they will take to ease the pressure they currently face. Their past two performances – against Spurs and Everton – weren’t anything close to a complete performance, but you get the feeling people have made it out to be a lot worse than it was. 

They always seem to carry a threat when they go forward. They have a secure defensive system and a great commitment to their shape. They just aren’t seemingly able to perform at a decent level for 90 minutes.

Key Players to Watch

  • Alejandro Garnacho: He remains an attacking ace for Manchester United. Despite the team’s struggles, his pace and finishing ability will always pose a significant threat to opposition defences and when he is in the team, they are truly that much better. 
  • Casemiro: His experience and stability in the middle of the pitch shouldn’t be taken for granted. He is an incredibly experienced player, and his leadership has become crucial for a Manchester United side utterly devoid of confidence at the moment.
  • Bruno Fernandes: Truly a shining light at a really dark time for Manchester United. He is central to pretty much everything they do, but his contribution to their creative play is often something to behold. A player with vision, an extensive passing range and a lethal finish – his contributions are vital for the success of this team and he will no doubt be another player to watch here.

Ipswich Current Form – LLWDL

The reality for Ipswich is that they need wins if they are to have any hope of surviving the drop. They managed to take points off Manchester United when they played them in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge – but have struggled to secure important results throughout the campaign. 

You have got to feel for Kieran McKenna though, he is a really good coach who has implemented really good structures at Ipswich Town, but without results, all of that counts for very little unfortunately.

  • Leif Davis: A left-back with attacking threats. His attacking ability certainly offers Ipswich an extra dimension, but against a team with pace and skill in their own attacking line, it will be interesting to see whether Davis can play with bravery.
  • Cameron Burgess: A defender with a no-nonsense approach to life in the Premier League. He has been brilliant at the heart of the Ipswich defence and given that his aerial ability has been a blessing both in their attacking and defensive moments, he will be one to watch.
  • Jack Clarke: A pacey winger, who will not be shy to offer pacey creativity on the flanks for Ipswich. He will look to take on defenders; he isn’t afraid to get up into the final third, and with an added ability to deliver smart crosses into the box – they will be hoping for a big performance from the wide player.
