Manchester United Current Form – DWLLW

United seem to be still navigating teething issues under their new manager, but after giving their fan base unbridled elation, they are still stuttering in the league and find themselves well off the pace.

Ruben Amorim was always going to need time, but the signs at United are incredibly positive. There is seemingly a clear style of play, a commitment to pressuring the ball higher up the pitch and a defensive commitment within the middle and defensive third of the football field.

The standards the new manager has set have also taken no prisoners. Big names, like Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, have been left out of the squad and reminded to fight for their place in the team week in and week out.

Rashford doesn’t look to be up for the fight, and most fans would likely say ‘good riddance’. Interestingly, your most reliable bookmakers for betting have the English forward priced up at 7/2 to join PSG and as much as 10/1 to move across to rivals Arsenal.

Key Players to Watch

  • Manuel Ugarte: He has taken some time to fit into the United team, but he has slowly become an absolute general in the middle of the park. His interceptions, successful tackles and complete passes are amongst the best in the league and his work rate will certainly impress his new boss.
  • Amad Diallo: The young Ivorian continues to take his opportunity with both hands. The hero of the derby against Manchester City, Amad is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal at the moment. The combination of his pace, skill and finishing have proven dangerous for opponents and everyone at United will be hopeful he once again produces something special here.
  • Harry Maguire: The ultimate example of resilience in the league, Maguire just looks to have found a second wind under Ruben Amorim. Just a few months ago he was a player who looked to be on his way out and struggling for game time, but he is beginning to look like the defender who performed at Leicester City.

Manchester United Team News

Mason Mount (thigh injury) and Luke Shaw (Calf injury) are currently out injured for Manchester United.

Newcastle Current Form – DDLWW

Newcastle have largely been average at times this season, but the winds of change seem to be sweeping through St. James’ Park. The league table isn’t a fair reflection of what they are capable of but is yet another reminder of the competitiveness of the Premier League. No team can afford to blow hot and cold and maintain a competitive league position.

In fairness, the inconsistency which has followed Newcastle makes any Newcastle United prediction or preview difficult, but until even the best betting sites for football catch up to their change in fortune there is plenty of value on the Magpies.

Eddie Howe will know that during this time of the year, a run of form can catapult you into a positive league position, and if Newcastle continue to click and have the likes of Alexander Isak upfront, the turn of the year could be hugely beneficial.

Key Players to Watch

  • Alexander Isak: The Swedish striker is enjoying a tremendous run of form in the Premier League. Newcastle will no doubt be desperate to ensure they secure his signature for the immediate future, but the manner in which he has begun to tear apart opponents' defences has garnered the attention of many around Europe!
  • Lewis Hall: he English left-back has seen an incredible development in his game this season. He has slowly become an incredibly important player for Newcastle and has now even seen a call-up to the English National team. His defensive ability has been second to none, but it is no doubt the aggression with which he plays that has endeared him to Tyne side fans.
  • Anthony Gordon: Gordon has been an interesting player to watch this season. His stats and data aren’t at the heights they saw last season but watching him play for Newcastle paints a very different picture. His creativity and clever movement in the middle of field has massively benefited his team and Newcastle will be hopeful he maintains it for the second half of this season!

Newcastle Team News

Newcastle are without Nick Pope (knee injury), Callum Wilson (hamstring injury), Jamaal Lascelles (cruciate ligament injury) and Sven Botman (knee injury).

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Manchester United: 3-4-2-1

Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez, Dalot, Mainoo, Ugarte, Amad, Garnacho, Fernandes, Hojlund.

  2. Newcastle: 4-3-3

Dubravka, Hall, Burn, Schar, Livramento, Tonali, Guimares, Wilcock, Gordon, Isak, Murphy.

Suggested Bets

Given all of this Premier League betting insight, these are our suggested wagers for Manchester United vs Newcastle.

  1. Manchester United Win/Draw: As previously mentioned, United are still turning the corner with Ruben Amorim. They are far from the finished product, but there is enough to suggest that we can back them to come away with something against Newcastle. 2/7 (1.29) with Betway and 1xBet

  2. Both Teams to Score: The attacking quality on the field is incredible, coupled with the fact that neither side has seen their defensive system keep consistent clean sheets at any point during this season. 11/20 (1.55) with Betway and 1xBet

  3. Man United (Win/Draw) + BTTS: In order to maximise your odds with your favourite football betting sportsbooks, we suggest combining these two betting strategies for extra value. 39/10 (4.9) with 1xBet and Betway

Value Bets

  1. Amad Diallo (Anytime Goalscorer):  The Ivorian has thoroughly enjoyed life under Ruben Amorim, and we think the value of him finding the back of the net once again for United is just simply too good to let slip. 3/1 (4.0) with 1Win and 1xBet.

  2. Alexander Isak (Anytime Goalscorer): The Newcastle ace has been in prolific goal-scoring form. Back him to get onto the score sheet here at 28/10 (3.8) with 1xBet

  3. 1st Half Totals (Over 1.5) Both teams will likely look to get off to an absolute flyer, United in particular have been susceptible to both scoring and conceding very early on – but the value here justifies the gamble. 27/10 (2.7) with Betway and 1xBet.

Prediction: Manchester United (Win/Draw) + BTTS

United are a quality side, one who is beginning to show a real identity and structure under Ruben Amorim. They have shown glimpses of their best work, and when they finally click it would not come as a surprise to see them achieve success once again. Nevertheless, this is our prediction for Manchester United vs Newcastle. Get on!
