The Toon Army hosts the Red Devils in an exciting Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon. The home side has been excellent this season and is pushing for a top-four spot as we enter the business end of the season. The visitors, on the other hand, have been woeful in this campaign, finding themselves in the bottom half of the table.

The reverse fixture saw the Magpies run out two-nil winners as they were untroubled at Old Trafford. First-half goals from Joelinton and Alexander Isak saw Eddie Howe’s side cruise to victory.

Key Players to Watch

  • Alexander Isak: The Swede has been very impressive for the Magpies. Isak has 20 goals and five assists and has been one of the best performers in the Premier League this season.
  • Bruno Guimaraes: The midfield enforcer for the Magpies is a sumptuous footballer for someone who is supposed to be the destroyer in midfield. Guimaraes is a key cog in the Newcastle midfield.
  • Kieran Trippier: Known for his set-piece deliveries, the Englishman’s ability to contribute at both ends of the field makes him an invaluable asset to Howe’s technical team.

Newcastle United Team News

Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman, and Joelinton all have knee issues, while Lewis Hall, Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak, Kieran Trippier, and Matt Target all have minor issues and will be assessed ahead of the visit of Manchester United.

Manchester United Current Form – WDWLD

The Red Devils’ inconsistent form over their previous five games has been the tale of their season overall. They are yet to register back-to-back wins all season. United did hold their bitter rivals, Manchester City to a draw last time out and that should give them some motivation heading into this crucial tie.

Key Players to watch

  • Bruno Fernandes: The Portuguese midfielder has been tasked with a deeper role this season under new coach Ruben Amorim, but that has not reduced his output. Fernandes has eight goals and nine assists in his 29 Premier League games this season.
  • Alejandro Garnacho: The Argentinian winger is an exciting player when he gets on his bike and is a major threat on the counter for Amorim’s team. Garnacho has five goal contributions this season.
  • Harry Maguire: Maguire has rediscovered the form he showed before his move from Hull City. He is now a reliable option for Amorim to call upon at the back.

Manchester United Team News

Jonny Evans has a muscle issue. Youngster Kobbie Mainoo is dealing with a knock. In addition, Lisandro Martinez has a knee injury, and Amad is recovering from an ankle sprain. Ayden Heaven has a leg problem and Matthijs De Ligt has a knock.
