Newcastle Current Form – WWWLW
This might be a little harsh to say, but the fact that for a fair amount of time around Christmas we thought Newcastle could challenge for the title was embarrassing. Now before you join the chorus of ‘speak for yourself’ reader, they did look to be the only challenger to Liverpool and given their run of form, we all got ahead of ourselves.
Newcastle is still pushing for Champions League qualification, there is no question of that, but they desperately need to return to winning ways for that to even be within the realm of possibility.
Newcastle seem to be playing with something to prove, and if that is what it takes for them to claim valuable points, we’re sure all on Tyneside will join us in saying ‘long may it continue’.
Key Players to Watch
- Dan Burn: Dan Burn will be one of those players important to Newcastle’s push for Europe. We all know what they can do going forward, but it is their inability to keep a clean sheet which has become a cause for concern.
- Sandro Tonali: How good has Tonali been for Eddie Howe? He has earned his spot in the team after fighting back in the squad and he has been absolutely incredible for the Magpies. His creativity, work rate and defensive involvement makes him a complete midfielder – and they have him at 10! He has been brilliant; we can’t say that enough.
- Alexander Isak: Yes, it is Isak again. In our defence though, we don’t have a choice but to include him in this section. He has led the Newcastle attacking threat with absolute devastation and continues to contribute in the final third. Would you really be surprised to see him on the scoresheet again?
Newcastle Team News
Jamaal Lascelles (cruciate ligament injury), Harvey Barnes (thigh injury) and Callum Wilson (hamstring strain) are all unavailable for Newcastle.
Fulham Current Form – DWLWL
Do Fulham have a case to be considered the better team in this encounter? They are really bright going forward; they are bold in possession of the football, and they certainly will not be shy to take the game to Newcastle.
Marco Silva is arguably one of the most criminally underrated coaches in England, his side continue to achieve impressive results and given their league position – especially when you consider their recent seasons – they are flying.
We have enjoyed watching Fulham play, and surely you have as well. Don’t be surprised to see them compete here.
Key Players to Watch
- Alex Iwobi: Alex Iwobi is enjoying a really positive season for Fulham this year. His attacking contributions have been incredibly important for the Cottagers and given the fact that he ranks as joint-first for most league goal involvements for Fulham, he is certainly one to watch here.
- Antonee Robinson: A left-back who has attracted the attention of many clubs around Europe, Robinson has seemingly loved life at Fulham. As a defensive player, who has been aggressive in defence for his side, Robinson also ranks as one of the top sources of assists for Marco Silva’s side. Newcastle will have to be mindful of his expansive runs on the flanks.
- Emile Smith-Rowe: Smith-Rowe is a player who has featured for Fulham this season, but still seemingly chases his best performances. There is no question that he is a highly talented and creative midfielder, but those around Craven Cottage might just be hopeful of a little more from their central midfielder.
Fulham Team News
Kenny Tete (knee injury), Reiss Nelson (thigh injury) and Harry Wilson (ankle injury) are all an injury concern. Fulham might not have a totally injury-free squad for this encounter, but the fact that many of their ‘big’ names are available will only stand a positive Fulham prediction in good stead!
Predicted Line-Up

Fulham: 4-2-3-1
Leno, Robinson, Bassey, Anderson, Castagne, Lukic, Berge, Iwobi, Smith-Rowe, Wilson, Jimenez.
Suggested Bets
Our strategies, insights, and avenues for the clash at St. James’, combined with recommendations for top Premier League betting sites, ensure you’re fully prepared for the action.
Newcastle Win: Newcastle seem to be the more balanced team at the moment. They are playing good football and are seemingly still in a rather confident state. These three points will be vital for them. 6/10 (1.6) with 1xBet and Betway
Over 2.5 Goals: The attacking attributes of both these two teams leads us to think goals will be the order of the day. Back Over 2.5 Goals at generous odds here. 6/10 (1.6) with 1xBet and Betway
Newcastle + Over 2.5 Goals: Combining the two betting angles makes for a rather complete weekend punt. We are all over the home win, and adding over 2.5 goals for extra value won’t hurt. 32/25 (2.28) with Stake and 1xBet
Value Bets
Alexander Isak (Anytime Goalscorer): It is becoming something of a Newcastle must-have. Back the Swedish ace to find the back of the net yet again. 12/10 (2.2) with Pinnacle and 1xBet
Newcastle (-1) Handicap: This game could very well be close but given the fact that Newcastle is playing at home and with something of a chip on their shoulder, back the Magpies to overcome the -1 handicap at 6/10 (1.6) with Betway.
Newcastle (1st Goal): Back the hosts to find the back of the net first. The value available on this betting angle is just simply incredible. 13/25 (1.52) with 1xBet and Stake.
Prediction: Newcastle Win
Fulham have been impressive – we can’t say that enough. However, we don’t see them picking up anything here. Newcastle is playing with confidence and urgency; they will want to continue their push for Champions League football and know the three points on offer here is vital.
Back them to claim all three in front of a rather buoyant home crowd.
