The Hammers welcome the Magpies to the London Stadium in a Premier League clash that could prove vital for both teams’ fortunes come May. After sacking Julen Lopetegui and appointing Graham Potter, there has been some upturn in form, but the West Ham faithful will be demanding more from their team. Eddie Howe and co on the other hand, have been good following a difficult start to the season. With both sides pushing for crucial points, this matchup is set to be an exciting contest, making it an intriguing one for Premier League betting enthusiasts.

Over their previous five fixtures, Potter’s side have drawn once, lost twice and won twice. It is not great form that sees the London club hovering just above the relegation zone. The Hammers have conceded just four goals over this period against opposition like Arsenal and Chelsea which shows they can be resolute defensively.

Key Players to watch

  • Jarrod Bowen: The England International has been the Irons’ best creative attacker. Bowen has six goals and four assists in 20 Premier League games, meaning he registers a goal contribution every 2 games.
  • Mohammed Kudus: Explosive, direct and skilful, the Ghanaian is a defender’s nightmare to mark for 90 minutes. Kudus is one of the Hammers’ best players and the 24-year-old needs to take more responsibility in these crunch times for the London club.
  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka: The former Manchester United star has reignited his career at West Ham. The right-back has been solid for his new club all season, featuring in 23 Premier League games and registering three goal contributions in the process.

West Ham United Team News

Michail Antonio has a leg injury and Crysencio Summerville is out with a muscle issue. Both Niclas Fullkrug and Vladimir Coufal have hamstring injuries. Meanwhile, star man Lucas Paqueta is struggling with an ankle problem, adding to the team's injury woes.

Newcastle United Current Form – WLLWL

It has been a mixed bag of results for Howe’s team that has seen them slip outside the top four in the Premier League. Just two wins and three losses is not good reading for a team with Champions League aspirations.

Key Players to Watch

  • Harvey Barnes: The speedy winger has been a consistent performer for the Tyneside club this season. Barnes has six goal contributions in 25 Premier League appearances this season.
  • Bruno Guimarães: The midfield enforcer for the Magpies is a sumptuous footballer for someone who is supposed to be the destroyer in midfield. Blessed with Brazilian flair, he sets the tone for Newcastle to play and often runs games himself.
  • Kieran Trippier: Known for his set-piece deliveries, the Englishman’s ability to contribute at both ends of the field make him an invaluable asset to Howe’s technical team.

Newcastle United News

Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are both ruled out due to knee injuries. Lewis Hall has an ankle issue and star forward Alexander Isak has a muscle problem. Kieran Trippier is facing a race against time to be fit for the clash with a back issue.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. West Ham (4-2-3-1): Areola, Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson, Soucek, Irving, Wan-Bissaka, Bowen, Soler, Kudus

  2. Newcastle United: 4-3-3: Dubravka, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall, Tonali, Guimarães, Joelinton, Murphy, Barnes, Gordon
