West Ham Form – LWLDL

The former Chelsea boss is back in the Premier League, but it hasn’t exactly been a happy return for him. Yes, West Ham have performed quite well since he took charge at the London Stadium, but they have struggled to find any sort of consistent form.

There is no doubt Graham Potter is a talented manager, the only concern we have is whether or not West Ham have enough time to allow him to settle and implement his approach effectively. They are not exactly out of the woods with respect to relegation and they will need to keep one eye on the chasing pack!

Key Players to Watch

  • Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Wan-Bissaka will always be a player happy to get up and down the pitch for the Hammers. Defensively, he is brilliant in 1v1 situations – arguably one of the best in Europe – however, offensively he might be seen as too simplistic.
  • Jarrod Bowen: The return of Bowen would no doubt be a huge welcome for West Ham. He is an aggressive player who the Hammers would be happy to have in those final third environments. A real goal scorer, he will be important for Graham Potter’s side.
  • Max Kilman: Often finding himself in the heart of the West Ham defence, it is difficult to find a positive West Ham prediction without first thinking Kilman needs to have a positive performance.

West Ham Team News

Jean-Clair Todibo (knock), Niclas Fullkrug (hamstring strain), Michail Antonio (broken leg) and Lucas Paqueta (knock) are out injured for this game.

Brentford Current Form – LDLWL

For better or for worse, you look at this Brentford team and think they can challenge pretty much anyone in the Premier League on their day. They have incredible talents upfront and, as much as have this on repeat now, the work Thomas Frank has done for this Bees side is incredible.

In fairness, they are a much better side at home and will likely play with a little less impotence on the road – but that doesn’t detract from what they are capable of doing. Against Spurs last time out in the league, they looked to threaten for the entire 90 minutes but never really got going. They will surely be hoping for a response here.

Key Players to Watch

  • Yoane Wissa: The pace, physicality and precision Brentford have upfront is simply impressive. Players like Wissa have shown their propensity for real intent upfront and even amidst the most simplistic chances or opportunities, he seems to find the back of the net. He is one to watch here.
  • Christian Norgaard: Norgaard has been another player who has shone for the Bees. A player who is happy to seemingly do the hard yards in the middle of the football pitch, he has a large part to play in Brentford reclaiming the ball quickly and then transitioning into dangerous situations.
  • Bryan Mbeumo: Mbeumo is enjoying yet another astonishing season for Brentford. Since coming into the Premier League with the Bees by way of promotion, Mbeumo has played a massive role out wide. Someone Brentford will surely want to get into attacking positions early, he is a big player for Thomas Frank.

Brentford Team News

Aaron Hickey (hamstring injury), Gustavo Nunes (back injury), Josh Da Silva (knee injury) and Rico Henry (knock) are all a doubt for this encounter.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. West Ham: 4-2-3-1

Fabianski, Coufal, Mavropanos, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, Soucek, Alvarez, Kudus, Soler, Bowen, Ings.

  2. Brentford: 4-2-3-1

Valdimarsson, Ajer, Collins, van den Berg, Lewis-Potter, Norgaard, Janelt, Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade, Wissa.

Suggested Bets

These are our strategies if you want to bet on football online

  1. Brentford: Back the visitors to claim a big win. They have the players to put West Ham under a host of pressure and we think they make Graham Potter’s return even more gloomy. 39/20 (2.95) with 1xBet

  2. Both Teams to Score (Yes): There are attacking threats on both sides of the pitch here. Neither side is going to play it safe, and we think the game will open up nicely. Get on 13/25 (1.52) with 1xBet

  3. Brentford + Both Teams to Score: Combine these two betting suggestions to elicit maximum value from your reputable bookmaker of choice! 36/10 (4.6) with 1xBet

Value Bets

  1. Over 2.5 Goals: Another betting avenue underpinned by the goals market is to back Over 2.5 Goals here. Get stuck in at 6/10 (1.6) with Pinnacle

  2. Brentford + 0.5 Handicap: For the punter looking for a bit of safety, back Brentford on the +0.5 handicap at 6/10 (1/6) with Pinnacle

  3. Brentford to Win Either Half: Back the Bees at odds with Betway as much as 8/10 (1.9) to win either half against a rather placid West Ham side.

Prediction: Brentford to Win

Brentford are often a little less expansive on the road. Thomas Frank’s side allow their hosts to dictate the game for large portions before growing into the encounter and making their presence felt.

West Ham are a good side, we just think they are a little open and as such will be susceptible to the talent the Bees hold (especially upfront).
