Wolves host Everton in a huge fixture that could prove to be season defining at Molineux. It has been a season to forget for both these clubs, who, can excite you on their day. Both outfits have star players in their ranks but have been a victim of injuries to key players and inconsistency that has derailed their seasons and left them just outside the relegation zone.

The visitors thumped Wolves four nil at Goodison Park in December and come into the game in much better form than what they started the season off with. Vitor Pereira’s side are trying to do the same. After being appointed just three months ago, the Portuguese coach’s side has shown some fight in their quest to beat the drop.

Wolves Current Form – LWLWL

It has been one step forward, one step back for Periera’s side over their last five fixtures. The two wins were crucial, however, and has kept them just out of reach of 18th-placed Ipswich Town.

Key Players to watch

  • Jorgen Strand Larsen: The Norwegian has hit the ground running in his first Premier League season. Just returning from injury, the striker who is on loan from Spanish outfit Celta Vigo has seven goals and two assists to his name.
  • Rayan Ait-Nouri: Rayan Ait-Nouri is an exciting fullback and can play in a back five or in a flat back four. The Algerian is an intelligent player and has eight goal contributions for his Wolves side in the Premier League this season.
  • Nelson Semedo: The former Barcelona man has become a household name at Wolves. The Portuguese has even been handed the captain’s armband and is a key cog in the Wanderers backline.

Wolves Team News

The Wolves camp have been plagued by knee injuries. Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera, Leon Chiwome, and Goncalo Guedes are all out due to knee issues.

Emmanuel Agbadou and Rodrigo Gomes will also miss the visit of Everton. Additionally, they will be without star forward Matheus Cunha who lost his cool in the FA Cup fifth round defeat to Bournemouth which means the Brazilian is set to miss a crucial part of the campaign for his side.

Everton Current Form – WDWDD

David Moyes has started off in excellent fashion in his second stint at Everton. The Merseyside club are unbeaten in their last five fixtures and have managed to put daylight between themselves and 17th -placed Wolves.

Key Players to watch

  • Vitalii Mykolenko: An ever-present figure in Everton’s backline, the Ukrainian is one of the best defensive fullbacks in the league and will be key in the run-in till May for his side.
  • Beto: The Guinea-Bissau International has been leading the line well in Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence. The tall, lanky forward knits play together well and is a great target man for Everton’s long-ball threat.
  • Abdoulaye Doucoure: The Frenchman does not stop running and is a key part of the Everton midfield. Doucoure has three goal contributions this season and has been vital in big games for his side.

Everton Team News

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the main absentee for Moyes’ side. Veteran Seamus Coleman is out with a muscle injury and Armando Broja has an ankle issue. Dwight McNeil, Orel Mangala, and Iliman Ndiaye are all out with knee problems.
