Wolves welcome title-chasing Arsenal to the Molineux Stadium in what is a crucial game for the home side who find themselves in a relegation battle. The Gunners, on the other hand, have their battles to fight at the summit of the Premier League if they are to catch Liverpool. 

The visitors' title charge is hanging on by a thread with an injury-ravished squad trying their best to keep pace with the leaders from Merseyside. Wolves are on the other end of the spectrum and are in desperate need of a victory to put some breathing space between themselves and the other relegation candidates. 

The North-London outfit have been a thorn in the Wolves side over the last five victories, winning all and conceding just once in that period.

Wolves have been in poor form lately, with that special win on Boxing Day against Manchester United a distant memory, they find themselves in a very real relegation battle. Their last home game resulted in a resounding 3-0 loss against Newcastle, and they desperately need a victory. 

New manager, Vitor Pereira started his tenure with back-to-back victories in the Premier League but since then, the Portuguese has found it tough going in the league. 

Their most recent win was the FA Cup 3rd round victory against Bristol City which was sandwiched between two 3-0 thrashings by Notting Ham Forest and Newcastle respectively.

Key Players to Watch

  • Matheus Cunha: Cunha's role has become even more critical recently. His speed and finishing could trouble Arsenal's backline. The Brazilian is Wolves’ best creative force with 10 goals and four assists to his name this season. 
  • Rayan Ait-Nouri: His versatility and adaptability to play as a full-back or attacking winger makes him very difficult to prepare for. The Algerian has been a consistent performer for his club this season. 
  • Jorgen Strand Larsen: Wolves' new striker has hit the ground running with seven goals and two assists this season already for his new club in his debut Premier League season following being loaned out by Spanish side Celta Vigo. His physicality and intelligent movement are a nightmare for defenders to deal with and Arsenal will have to marshal the Norwegian well if they are to keep him quiet.

Star player Mario Lemina has made a miraculous U-turn and is available for selection again following his request to be left out of the squad against Newcastle because of his desire to leave the club. 

Brazilian Matheus Cunha was rested for the three-nil drubbing at home to Newcastle and will be fresh to face the Gunners.

Arsenal has just about managed to keep pace at the top of the Premier League, even with a decimated squad and their most creative force, Bukayo Saka, missing. 

The visitors are unbeaten in their last five in the Premier League but costly draws at Brighton and Hove Albion and home to Aston Villa have seen them stutter in what is a busy January schedule. 

The January woes saw Arteta’s side also lose twice in Cup competition to Newcastle in the EFL Cup and Manchester United in the FA Cup respectively.

  • Myles Lewis-Skelly: The Hale End Academy graduate has seamlessly integrated into the first team this season and looks like a solid addition to the backline. 
  • Martin Odegaard: The captain has just returned from injury and is getting back to his best performances of last season.
  • Gabriel Magalhaes: The Brazilian centre-back has been in excellent form at the back and is a vital goal source for the Gunners from set-pieces with three goals and one assist to his name.

Bukayo Saka remains sidelined following a hamstring injury he picked up a few weeks ago, joining Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ethan Nwaneri, and Gabriel Jesus in the medical room.
