Former Premier League star Clinton Morrison believes Crystal Palace need to get the best out of their attacking players this season to survive relegation without Michael Olise.

The Eagles have struggled to pick just a win from 10 league matches this season and they currently find themselves in 17th position with seven points.

They lost key players in the summer transfer window with former captain Joachim Andersen, Jordan Ayew, and Olise leaving South London for greener pastures.

Olise is having a remarkable debut season in Germany with consistent goals return for Bayern Munich while Ayew and Andersen are making impact with their new teams in the English top-flight.

The trio’s departure appears to have left a vacuum in the attacking set-up of Oliver Glasner’s team, and they are the second-lowest scoring team in the Premier League this campaign with eight goals (behind Southampton).

With just two points above the relegation, Morrison is optimistic about Crystal Palace’s survival, and he wants Glasner to unlock his team’s efficiency in the attack.

This season, they have lost two key players - Joachim Andersen and Michael Olise. I don’t need to say too much about Olise, you can see he’s ripping it up for Bayern Munich.

“I always said Olise would be a world star from when I first saw him and he’s continuing to show that, but when you lose two players and it rips out your team, then you’re in trouble.”

“However, I think Palace will kick on this season, but they need to get the best out of their attacking players.”

“Last season I thought Palace over-achieved. A lot of the games they won towards the back end of the season were against teams whose seasons were fizzling out.”

Senegal’s Ismaila Sarr and England striker Eddie Nketiah joined the Eagles this summer as reinforcements, but they are yet to break their duck in the team.

Meanwhile, French star Jean-Phillipe Mateta and England playmaker Eberechi Eze have four Premier League goals in between them this term.

Crystal Palace will hope to turn their league form around when they welcome Fulham to Selhurst Park in a London derby on Saturday, November 9.
