Manchester United and Newcastle United were also interested in signing the defender on a free transfer but Chelsea were able to get his signature and will be hoping that the left-footed defender is a mainstay in the heart of defence. Adarabioyo’s experience could be vital for a Chelsea defence that is filled with youngsters.

Join his new Chelsea teammate on the list is Spanish shot-stopper Robert Sánchez. Sanchez made his name with Brighton and Hove Albion, playing and excelling in the sweeper-keeper role and commanding his penalty box before a reported £20 million move to the Blues.
But the Spanish goalkeeper only managed to start 21 matches during his first season with the club due to injury setbacks. Competing with the likes of Djordje Petrovic and the return of Kepa Arrizabalaga also imminent, it will be interesting to see how the new manager Enzo Maresca manages the game time of his goalkeeping department.

The Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen is the second choice at Aston Villa behind Argentina’s FIFA World Cup and Copa America winning star Emi Martinez.
