Andre Onana is facing the exit door amid a mass exodus at Manchester United this summer.
The Cameroon international replaced David De Gea in the summer of 2023 when he joined for a fee of almost £50million from Inter Milan.
But the 28-year-old has failed to make the grade at Old Trafford, with his career at the club littered with high-profile mistakes.
And SportsBoom sources understand that boss Ruben Amorim wants a new number one as he looks to rebuild his squad this summer.
Antwerp’s Senne Lammens is believed to be top of Amorim’s wish list and aged just 22 is one of the brightest young keepers in the world.
But United are expecting to face stiff competition from a number of fellow Premier League clubs.
Manchester City are also keen on the talented keeper, with Newcastle, West Ham and Wolves among a number of potential top flight suitors.
Burnley stopper James Trafford, who moved to the Lancashire club from the Red Devils’ rivals Manchester City, has also emerged as a surprise candidate to become United’s next stopper.
He is impressed as part of Scott Parker’s mean machine defence this term, keeping a club record 13 straight clean sheets.
His performances at Turf Moor earned him a call-up in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.
SELL TO BUY
Amorim has been told by the Red Devils’ hierarchy that he will need to sell before he can begin his squad overhaul when the window reopens.
And that could mean upwards of ten players could be shipped off at the end of the season to free up funds and wages in the squad.
Onana could leave for Saudi Arabia, whilst the likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Antony and Jadon Sancho are on the transfer list.
Out-of-contract duo Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof will be released at the end of the campaign.
