Ben Chilwell is heading for the Chelsea exit door this summer.

The Blues’ ace is set to be part of a mass exodus from Stamford Bridge this summer, according to SportsBoom sources.

The 28-year-old, signed for a whopping £50million from Leicester in 2020, has fallen down the pecking order at the club in recent times.

Spaniard Marc Cucurella’s emergence as Chelsea’s number one left-back relegated Chilwell, who has spent considerable time on the sidelines with injury in recent years, to just one League Cup appearance for the London club this season.

He was shipped out to Crystal Palace on loan on deadline day in order to help revive his career and put him in the shop window ahead of a sale this summer.

And it is understood the Eagles could be tempted to make a permanent move for the wing-back if highly-rated Tyrick Mitchell leaves Selhurst Park.

FUTURE UP IN THE AIR

There are a number of clubs who have been alerted to Chilwell’s potential availability at the end of the season.

It is understood representatives from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are eagerly awaiting to see how his spell under Oliver Glasner goes.

Manchester United are looking to bolster their options in the position with Luke Shaw’s frustrating injury problems in recent years.

Chilwell could decide to go abroad if he fails to find an attractive option to keep him on home soil.

But he is desperate to try and force his way back into international recognition with former Blues’ boss Thomas Tuchel now at the helm.

Chelsea have been gung-ho in their buying over the past couple of years since American businessman Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich.

And it has left a number of stars sat on the bench waiting for a taste of first-team football — which will help the club as they try to accrue funds to buy a world-class striker this season.
