Carlos Vinicius wants to leave England when his contract at Fulham ends this summer, SportsBoom have been told.

But the striker, who turned 30 earlier this week, will have to wait for boss Marco Silva to make a decision on his immediate future due to the Cottagers having a year extension option in the deal.

The Brazilian has struggled since making the £4.5million move in 2022.

It is understood that the player, who played at Santos and Palmeiras as a junior, wants to finish his career in his native Brazil after spending the best part of the last decade struggling to make it work in Europe.

But Fulham, who have the same decision to make over Raul Jimenez, could exercise their option for another year at the end of the season.

Boss Silva said: “We have to wait. “It’s a decision that we [can take]. He’s not the only player that is [coming to] the end of his contract, and he’s not the only player where we have an option in his contract.”

FELL THROUGH

Vinicius looked destined to return home last summer with personal terms with Red Bull Bragantino all but agreed before Fulham u-turned on the move and made the player return to London.

He was in Sao Paulo and even had taken photos with the club shirt ahead of the transfer announcement.

EUROPEAN NIGHTMARE

Vinicius has not had the best of times since switching South America for Europe in 2018.

After an ill-fated move to Napoli, he scored 18 goals in 35 league games for Benfica and spent a spell on loan at Tottenham Hotspur where he scored just one Premier League goal in nine appearances.

And his time at Fulham has not been much better. He ended his first campaign with the club with three goals in his last five games, but was shipped out on loan to Galatasaray at the backend of last season and has played just twice this term.
