Jack Grealish will need to take a pay cut to secure his Manchester City exit this summer, according to sources close to SportsBoom.

The left-sided playmaker is in desperate need of a fresh start having fallen down the pecking order at City.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in securing his services, but the 29-year-old will need to agree terms for substantially less than the £300,000-a-week he is currently on at the champions.

A number of Saudi Arabian clubs are tempted to lure him to the Saudi Pro League, but it is understood Grealish still harbours international ambitions despite being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.

Pep Guardiola refused to comment on Grealish’s City future despite reports linking him with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

INTERNATIONAL AMBITIONS

Two players who are likely to help sway his decision are Marcus Rashford and Ivan Toney.

Rashford fell out of favour at Manchester United but earned himself a shock recall by Tuchel after impressing during his current loan spell at Villa.

Toney, who has scored 16 goals in 22 games since making the Saudi switch in the summer, was not picked.

And Grealish, who is contracted at City until 2027, wants to take a similar route to Rashford and revive his fortunes.

HIGHS AND LOWS

Grealish has enjoyed huge success since leaving boyhood Aston Villa for Manchester City for a whopping £100million in 2021.

He was part of the seemingly untouchable squad which secured three successive Premier League titles in his first three campaigns with the club.

The best of the lot was the historic treble-winning season in 2022/23 where the club won the Champions League for the first time.

But that squad has seemingly reached the end of its shelf life at the Etihad with Guardiola set to wield the axe this summer.

Grealish has rarely featured in the top flight this season, playing just 605 minutes as they have meagrely surrendered their Premier League crown.
