Atletico Madrid Set Sights on Surprise Move for Man Utd Outcast Antony, as Real Betis Seek to Keep Him

Real Betis are eager to make Antony's loan deal permanent this summer, with the Brazilian player impressing in La Liga. Despite interest from Atletico Madrid, Betis is determined to keep him, with a reported offer of £40 million. Antony struggled at Manchester United after a big-money move in 2022. An exodus is expected at Old Trafford as they aim to cut costs and rebuild the squad.

Real Betis want to make Antony’s loan deal at the club permanent this summer, according to SportsBoom sources.

Antony is one of a number of players likely to leave Manchester United this season.

The Old Trafford flop has starred since making the move to Spain, with four goals and four assists during his 13 appearances for the La Liga outfit.

His dazzling performances, which have left officials at Old Trafford scratching their heads, have helped Betis secure 19 points from a possible 21.

Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has revealed the club will do “everything possible” to keep the Brazilian permanently.

But despite helping Antony rediscover his mojo, they may be beaten to his signature by Atletico Madrid with the playmaker putting himself in the shop window at Betis.

Diego Simeone has been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old since he moved to the Spanish top flight.

And it is reported the club are willing to offer around £40million up front with substantial add-ons for the player.

TIME FOR PASTURES NEW

Antony signed for United in 2022 for £84million but has largely disappointed as he failed to make the grade at Old Trafford.

After failing to impress Ruben Amorim during the first few months of his reign at the club, he was shipped out on loan to Spain.

Old Trafford chiefs are aware they will not recoup the vast sum of money they spent on the winger, who has two years left on his current deal, three years ago.

There will be a mass exodus from Old Trafford this summer as the club look to slash their wage bill before signing reinforcements for Amorim’s overhaul.
