Thomas Frank Keeps Door Open for Christian Eriksen's Brentford Return as Midfielder Plans Next Move
Former Brentford boss Thomas Frank has expressed openness to Christian Eriksen returning to the club. Eriksen, who is set to leave Manchester United, wants to play in Europe. He previously signed a deal with Brentford but opted for United. Both Frank and Ajax have left the door open for a potential return for the Danish playmaker.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has left the door ajar for Christian Eriksen to return to the club.
When asked about the possibility of a GTech return for the creative midfielder, Frank responded “nothing is closed”.
Eriksen, 33, is set to leave Manchester United as part of a mass exodus at Old Trafford when his contract expires in the summer.
But SportsBoom sources understand the Danish international wants to leave England and play elsewhere in Europe.
Eriksen has ruled out a return to his native Denmark, labelling it “too early” to end his career there.
The playmaker collapsed on the pitch during a Euro 2020 game, played the following summer due to Covid, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Eriksen was fitted with a cardioverter-defibrillator, but was forced to leave Inter Milan due to Serie A rules banning players with defibs playing in the league.
Brentford offered Eriksen the chance to return to football eight months after the incident and he penned a six-month deal with the West London outfit in 2022.
DECISION TO MAKE
The former Tottenham ace was a fan favourite during his short stint at the club, but the Bees could not match the Red Devils’ offer and the player decided to make the move to Manchester.
But it is understood Frank is hopeful the chance he was willing to take on his countryman will play a part in Eriksen’s thinking when he weighs up his options this summer.
Brentford are not the only former club of Eriksen's who have opened the door to the star returning.
Eriksen won three straight league titles with Ajax and added the Serie A title with Inter in 2021 to his CV. And Ajax director of football Marijn Beuker admitted the club's interest of a fairytale return.
During his spell at United he won the League Cup and FA Cup and believes he still has plenty to offer at a top club.
