Puerto Rico Open Preview: Odds, Tips, and Prediction
Venue: Grand Reserve Golf Club Tee-off Time: 10:45 (UK Time) The Puerto Rico Open is a PGA Tour event that has been a part of the tour since 2008. Known as a ‘alternate field’ event, it usually runs at the same time as a so-called bigger event and as a result, doesn’t often attract the biggest names. The flip side to this is of course that younger stars are able to achieve a PGA Tour win and see their names counted amongst Golf’s elite. With a competitive field and plenty of value to be found, bettors looking for the best odds and insights can explore top Golf betting sites to find markets for this exciting tournament.

A Closer Look at the Contenders
Matt Wallace is an aggressive player who at times through his career has shown a deep potential. What has let him down though is his inconsistency off the tee-box and the inaccuracy of playing golf shots which allow him to attack the hole.
Henrik Norlander is yet to secure any PGA Tour title – even at the ripe age of 37. However, he is a player who shows an intricate ability and might provide punters with an outside shout.
William McGirt is a bit of an outlier. He is a ‘rookie’, albeit at 45 years old, and so, he might be the dark horse in the pack. Nevertheless, he is largely unproven and any wager on his chances should be done with caution.
Suggested Bets
Niklas Norgaard to Win: A player with a strong drive and brutal strength throughout the course. If he is able to harness this and play with composure for the four days, he is our pick to land the Puerto Rico Open this weekend.
Total Birdies Under 15.5: Given the nature of the course, the distance incorporated into almost each hold and the inconsistency of the leading men – back Under 15.5 Birdies at the Puerto Rico Open this weekend.
Henrik Norlander to Lead After Round 1: One of our outside picks, we have him to lead the pack after a positive round on Thursday afternoon. He is aggressive and will want to play with a certain tempo. We have reservations around his ability for the entirety of the weekend but are happy to get behind him leading after round 1.
Tournament Prediction
Henrik Norlander will always emerge as a strong contender for us. His experience at the event, his consistency when playing at this event and his ability to navigate a course which asks players to handle long fairways and weather which changes on dime – cannot be underestimated.
We are backing Norlander to find his first win here this weekend.
