The dust has barely settled on what was an incredible finish at the Masters last weekend. After 10 failed attempts trying to complete a career Grand Slam, Rory McIlroy finally slipped into the Green Jacket at Augusta to seal his fifth Major, and he pipped Justin Rose at a playoff after making a bogey at the 18th.
At neighbouring South Carolina, the star-studded field will be looking to dethrone Scottie Scheffler who is the defending champion. 12 months ago, Scheffler stormed to the title with an overall score of -19, finishing three strokes ahead of Sahith Theegala.
With Signature Events, there are 700 FedEx Cup points up for grabs, and the total prize purse is lucrative ($20 million). The late Arnold Palmer was the inaugural champion of the RBC Heritage, and the Hilton Head track has a rich history.
But who will walk away with the title this week? We’ve provided a full golf tournament preview for this event along with supplying some prices. Give this a read for the full lowdown.

In terms of golf stats for betting, it’s always worth taking a wider picture and crunching the numbers and available data to see if a player is thriving in a particular area or has an underlying issue that can affect their performance.
For the RBC Heritage, the players have little time to regroup following the Masters. As mentioned, past performance can be a guiding factor in terms of dictating golf tournament predictions.
Having a thorough understanding of the stats can go some way to determining your golf betting strategies for this tournament.

Contender News
Golf bookmakers that keep abreast of the PGA Tour will usually plug some stats on the likely contenders.
We have run the rule over three players who could make a run for the title at the RBC Heritage.
Scottie Scheffler
After presenting the Green Jacket to Rory McIlroy in the Butler’s Cabin last weekend at Augusta, Scottie Scheffler may have had some regrets over how the final round played out for him.
Although he finished fourth in the Masters with a final round of 69, Scheffler left a few putts out on the course, and he’s still not recaptured the heights of last season where he was a dominant force.
Scheffler ranked third for Driving Accuracy last year en route to clinching the RBC Heritage, and there is a premium placed on accuracy off the tee.
The American should get into the winner’s circle sooner rather than later, but he needs to get his putting firing. Currently, he’s ranked 42nd in SG: Putting, which by his high standards, isn’t good enough, however, you would be foolish to overlook him.
Ludvig Aberg
As you might expect, Ludvig Aberg has been knocking on the door at the Majors, and there were some very promising signs at the Masters. Well bar the 18th in the final round where he couldn’t read the pace of the green, and he ended with a triple bogey.
The Swede can roll with the punches, and last year, he finished T10 at the RBC Heritage which augurs well for him.
Having lifted the Genesis Invitational back in February, Aberg has already got a Signature Event title under his belt. His performance at the Masters also shrugged off concerns over his game having arrived with two missed cuts. He could come to the party this week.
Sungjae Im
Although his swing is less than conventional, Sungjae Im has been putting well lately. This was exemplified at the Masters, especially in the final round where he carded his best score of the week (69).
The South Korean goes about his business steadily, and he sometimes sneaks under the radar.
Last year, Im finished 12th at the RBC Heritage and he is overdue a trip to the winner’s circle. However, whether he can piece it all together this week remains to be seen.
Suggested Bets
The best betting sites for golf will have some recommended wagers that bettors can jump on. We have explored a few suggested bets for the RBC Heritage that have the potential to provide some returns.
Ludvig Aberg to win the RBC Heritage: A shoo-in at the moment for the Ryder Cup team, Ludvig Aberg continues to make huge strides, and let’s not forget, he’s only 25! His driving stats have made for good reading, and as mentioned, there were plenty of positives to take from the Masters. He has grabbed two career PGA Tour titles, and we wouldn’t put it past him to make it a third win this week (11/1 with 1xBet).
Scottie Scheffler to be the Top American golfer: The envy of many of his peers, Scottie Scheffler makes the game look effortless at times. Scottie Scheffler may not end up successfully defending the RBC Heritage, but he could string together another fine performance. In terms of specials, golf betting sites usually run odds for who will be the top American, and we’re leaning into Scheffler here (13/2 with Betandyou).
Sungjae Im to finish in the top 10: Despite a set of mixed results this term, Sungjae Im showed at the Masters he’s getting things back on track, and his talent is undoubted. In and around the green, he has provided some nice touches, and if he’s firing, a top-10 finish could beckon for him (15/4 with BetWinner)
Tournament Prediction: Ludvig Aberg to win the RBC Heritage
The RBC Heritage is always a popular stopping point on the PGA Tour, and there are usually plenty of thrills and spills.
Last year, Scheffler won at a canter, but we don’t think he will have it all his way this time. While he has been in contention most weeks, he’s not quite in the groove.
Sungjae Im and Ludvig Aberg could well be in the running, and Aberg, in particular, has looked pretty solid from tee to green over the past few weeks. While he has already bagged a win this season, we believe Aberg could make another trip to the winner’s circle this weekend.
