Singapore Classic Preview: Odds, Tips & Predictions
The Asian Swing of the DP World Tour kicks into gear on March 20 with the Singapore Classic as thoughts quickly turn to the Masters next month at Augusta. After a week off following the conclusion of the Joburg Open in South Africa, the field will be raring to go. Robert MacIntyre, who is coming off the back of a ninth place at The Players Championship, is expected to feature.

The tee times have already been posted for the Singapore Classic, and in terms of golf betting tips, we have run through the most likely contenders for the title.
Robert MacIntyre
Teeing it up for the first time on the DP World Tour this season is Robert MacIntyre, so we don’t have much to go by as far as prior form goes.
That said, the Scot has been stringing together some impressive results on the PGA Tour. Coming off the back of finishing ninth at the Players Championship, MacIntyre showed some decent touches around the green. He completed his final round with a 69 at TPC Sawgrass. Conditions proved to be tough, and there was a four-hour delay due to a storm.
MacIntyre did well during the Florida swing as he finished 11th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and he is one of the strongest players in the field this week. He could catch fire this week.
Haotong Li
Despite a low-key start to the campaign, Haotong Li has grown in confidence over the past few weeks.
That has coincided with some excellent results, most notably his win at the Qatar Masters last month where he finished on -16, one shot ahead of closest challenger Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen.
The Qatar Masters bears some resemblance to the Singapore Classic in terms of tricky greens, and this could well be a track that suits Li, so it will be fascinating to see how he fares.
Jordan Smith
Jordan Smith showed some fine flourishes at the Joburg Open earlier this month, and he shared the lead after the opening round with Wenyi Ding.
The Englishman has been plodding away, and while his T6 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the back end of last year represents his best result, he is a two-time DP World Tour winner.
In terms of performance metrics, he’s 13th for Greens in Regulation (72%) and 15th for Driving Accuracy (62.39%), so that bodes well for this week. Whether he can mount a serious challenge come the weekend remains to be seen, but you shouldn’t rule him out.

We see this tournament being tightly contested once again, and in terms of golf betting strategies, avoiding the wire-to-wire winner line could be worth exploring. The Singapore Classic is a relatively new addition to the DP World Tour, but that doesn’t mean it will be short on drama or quality.
While the likes of Li and Ding will look to impress the patrons, MacIntyre sticks out for us. He has this almost unflappable presence, and he is generally strong from tee to green.
Yes, this will be the Scot’s first appearance on the DP World Tour this term, but based on his recent form on the PGA Tour, he has built up some momentum, and he could take some stopping. We are going with MacIntyre to land the title.
