Jared Cannonier News

Jared Cannonier has no injury news heading into this fight.

Cannonier is a seasoned veteran known for his striking power and versatility across multiple weight classes. Transitioning from heavyweight to middleweight, he has showcased remarkable adaptability and resilience, and is a former UFC middleweight title challenger so he definitely has the advantage in this fight in terms of big fight experience.

Last Five Fights:

  • (2/7/22) Israel Adesanya def Jared Cannonier via Decision.

Gregory Rodrigues News

Gregory Rodrigues has no injury news heading into this fight.

Rodrigues, although experienced, this is the first time he is in the main event spot in the UFC, highlighting his lack of big fight experience. He has rapidly ascended the middleweight ranks with a combination of knockout power and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expertise.

Suggested Bets

  1. Gregory Rodrigues Outright (1/2) - Stake): The first suggested bet we want to bring up is Gregory Rodrigues to win the fight by any means. The Brazilian is coming into this fight off the back of three straight wins. Meanwhile, the former title challenger, Cannonier, has lost his last two bouts.

The concerning thing to us is that he has taken his last two fights very quickly after each other, meaning he has had little time to recover and also improve as a fighter.

  2. Will The Fight Go The Distance, No (4/11 - Betway): Whilst this selection is short odds, it seems almost inevitable that this fight will not go the distance. Across 46 pro bouts between the two, they have only won by decision a combined seven times.

Perhaps combining the first suggested bet with this one is the way to go in order to boost the returns.

  3. Gregory Rodrigues to Win By KO/TKO/DQ or SUB (5/6 - Betway): Gregory Rodrigues has proven to be an absolute savage ever since getting into the UFC, but this has been the theme throughout his career. 13 of his 16 wins have come via stoppage, and given he has a significant height and striking advantage in this one, he can add another knockout to his record.

Value Bets

  1. Gregory Rodrigues to Win By KO/TKO or DQ (13/8 - Betway): As stated in the previous section, Rodrigues has 13 career wins inside the distance, and 10 of those are knockouts or TKO's. While the previous suggested bet allows Rodrigues to win by submission, this will likely be a stand and bang type of fight, so lean towards this market if you favour the Brazilian.

  2. Jared Cannonier to Win By KO/TKO or DQ (11/4 - Betway): Jared Cannonier is a guy that you don't want to totally write off in any fight. The American can crack with the best of them in the 185-pounds division, and we've seen it only takes one of his vicious overhands or hooks to put someone's lights out.

  3. Gregory Rodrigues to Win in Round 2 (11/2 - Betway): Rodrigues has claimed four of his ten KO/TKO wins in the second round, making this market stand out. Plus, two of Cannonier's three KO losses came early in fights.

Prediction: Gregory Rodrigues to Win By KO/TKO or DQ

While this upcoming UFC Fight Night card isn't the best, the main event will certainly bring plenty of excitement. This one should be a highly explosive striking battle between two men who possess incredible power, but Gregory Rodrigues is certainly the more silkier of the two.

We expect “Robocop” to end the fight inside the distance because he has dynamite in both hands, and he is the more creative striker of the two. Besides, you have to wonder about Cannonier's motivation heading into this fight; he is fighting an unranked fighter off the back of two defeats, and he's eight years older than the Brazilian, who's riding a three-fight win streak. All the momentum is with Rodrigues.
