Leon Edwards to Win by KO/TKO or DQ: The Englishman is undoubtedly the far better striker of the two, and UFC fans will remember Edwards’ knockout of Kamaru Usman to win the title for a long time. This has been described as one of the greatest head-kick KOs in UFC history, and it was no fluke; he set it up perfectly with feints. Leon Edwards to Win by Submission: Many fans forget just how good Edwards is in terms of offensive grappling. Remember, he dealt with Kamaru Usman's grappling with ease, and he even took his back at one point in their second fight. Under 3.5 Rounds: The former champ was the first to admit that he had a bad night at the office when he surrendered his belt at UFC 304 in front of his British fans. Hearing him speak in the build-up to this one, he sounds extremely determined to put on a statement performance, and with this, he is bound to start much quicker than he did last time out. If he sets a good pace early on and fires off his accurate calf kicks and boxing combinations, Brady could be wearing damage even before getting to the championship rounds. (2/1 at Betway)
Prediction: Leon Edwards to Win
Leon Edwards let everybody down last summer when he simply didn't turn up in front of the UK fans, and he allowed Belal Muhammad to dictate the pace of the fight. There were rumours of a back injury leading up to the fight, so this could've been a factor in his lethargic performance. Plus, being forced to fight at around 4 AM in your own country doesn't help matters either.
The Jamaican-born sharpshooter has the striking advantage, the speed advantage and he looks the more powerful man. Brady will shoot for takedowns, but Edwards, outside of his last fight, usually has excellent takedown defence, and he's very strong in grappling exchanges.
Edwards will pick apart Brady whilst stuffing his wrestling attempts.
