How is the season so far for both teams?

Chicago Bulls

  • Record: 24-38
  • Home Form: 11-22
  • Road Form: 13-16

The Chicago Bulls is tenth in the Eastern Conference and occupying the final play-in spot. The organization are under pressure of losing the final spot due to their recent form, winning only two of their last ten matches. The organization are 24-38 and despite their troublesome run of form, they need to get back to winning ways to hold off the teams behind.

Their standout player this season is 34-year-old Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls’ starting center is the vocal point of the team, leading in points per game and rebounding, taking over the mantle of Zach LaVine following his trade to the Sacramento Kings. He has started in 56 matches this season, every game so far this season. He is playing his best in Chicago as he enters his fifth year with the team, averaging a total of 19.1 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Vucevic can’t do all the work, hence why Josh Giddey is another valuable player within the roster. Giddey isn’t a star shooter, but for his first year in Chicago, he is averaging impressive numbers in rebounds and assists, producing 7.5 and 6.6, respectively. These numbers have seen him raise the bar, but to find that extra level he needs to up his scoring averages.

Indiana Pacers

  • Record: 35-25
  • Home Form: 19-9
  • Road Form: 15-15

Despite being 6-4 from their last ten matches, the Indiana Pacers are right in the playoff picture. The organization have the second-highest number of defeats at home, accompanied with the fourth seed, the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers seem to have gone under the radar and could finish their respective season as high as third.

30-year-old power forward Pascal Siakam is the lead scorer and rebounder for the franchise this season, producing an output of 20.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Siakam’s season has seen a regression in his overall stat line but given the current position of the roster at the moment, it shows that he is still of great significance. This year marks his second year with the Pacers.

Siakham’s effective role in the roster is complimented by the efforts of point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who is fourth in the NBA on assists per game. His numbers are 8.9 per game, which is lower from previous seasons where he reached double figures, but his presence has great importance to the team. Haliburton is also the team leader in steals per game, boasting an impressive average of 1.5 per game.

Value Bets

  1. Josh Giddey, Over 10 Points, Over 5 Rebounds, Over 5 Assists: Josh Giddey has an impressive all-round record against the Indiana Pacers, boasting 14.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. In these eight games, he has proved to be a useful contributor within the roster, therefore, we predict him to replicate this once again.

  2. Tyrese Haliburton, Over 15 Points and Over 10 Assists: Tyrese Haliburton has already established himself as one of the best point guards in the league, averaging 18.4 points and 10.5 assists across 12 separate appearances. Haliburton will no doubt play a big role in this game, and SportsBoom expects him to post at least 15 points and 10 assists. It is worth noting he has achieved seven double-doubles in his last ten games in both areas.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers to win

SportsBoom concludes that the Indiana Pacers will prevail. The Chicago Bulls appear uninterested since trading off their star operator and as such will either make the final play-in spot or miss out altogether. This is a completely different mindset to the Pacers, who have won all three games this season against the Bulls, but also are wanting to reach the playoffs.
