"The Warrior," Wilson delivered a masterful performance, clinching nine out of the ten legs with remarkable breaks exceeding 50 points. Notable among these were breaks of 123, 96, and 88, underscoring his exceptional scoring ability and precision on the table. Reflecting on his performance, Wilson expressed satisfaction with his scoring prowess, despite experiencing a challenging season personally.

“It always pleases you. I think part of the modern game is about scoring very heavy and that's something that I think is a good asset of my game, although I haven't had the results this season that I would expect. My scoring stats have still been very high,” he told SportsBoom.com. 

For Wilson, the Crucible Theatre holds a special place as he has demonstrated consistent success in this prestigious arena. Having reached one final and two semi-finals in previous tournaments, Wilson considers himself well-suited to the unique environment and pressure of the World Snooker Championship.

“When it comes to the Crucible, I think there's definitely certain players that are kind of moulded and suited to this environment and this tournament and I'd like to believe that I am one of those players and I would like to think that my record over the recent years would suggest that.”

Despite his convincing win over Dale, Wilson remains grounded, acknowledging the importance of maintaining momentum and focus as he progresses through the tournament.

“You are only as good as your sort of last performance. Even though it was 9-1 for me, I still wanted to put the game to bed in good style and it kind of gives you inspiration and confidence going into your next match and that people are watching.”
